Graduation Day!!!!

So I've finally hit that milestone that every teenager looks forward to throughout their hellish high school career; graduation day. I've fought long and hard to get here; sacrificed so much. I've been screwed over by the school system, having credits glitched out, family/home issues forcing me to miss school, gone through tragic events and still I've made it here.

It's scary, exciting, and intense, because not only am I leaving high school behind me, I'm moving forward into the big wide world of adulthood. I've already been accepted into my dream art school, to pursue the degree I've aspired to for years. I am working at finding a house to buy with my sister. I've been logging in dozens of job applications so I can start saving. There's so much to do, but the future I've promised myself is totally worth it.

My beloved AP Art class threw me a surprise Graduation party, complete with cake, balloons, confetti, a cap and gown, and presents, as well as some art peices I've loved that they've made. It was the sweetest, most amazing gesture; and it just brightened the path ahead of me considerably. Standing at the edge of my future, I reflect on everything I've gone through for this, and have to remind myself this is all really real. Anyways, I'm gonna spend this weekend celebrating myself for making it this far, and work on my plans for the rest of this journey.

    I wish I was in your shoes again with the future ahead of you and all that. Celebrate your accomplishments - you deserve that. Then go grab the rest of your life by the (unicorn) horn and give it all ya got!
