LET ME ASK YOU SOMETHING.

If your goal is to raise money for a cause....

Would it be smart to turn down ANY money donated?

No no no no, let me finish. See, Pornhub is a rather large adult video website (obviously). Now, I'm not sure exactly HOW much they raised, but some sources say "significant". If you ask me, if Komen REALLY wanted to find a cure, then does it really matter where that cash comes from? While I can understand the concept of dirty money (money earned wrongfully), say Al-Qaeda just gave the United States of America a million bucks...

Bad analogy, but do you understand where I'm coming from? Turning down money isn't smart. While a for-profit-organization might have advantages in denying money from certain benefactors, a charity organization is just that. Charity. It's the organizer's job to gain money. It doesn't matter WHO, it doesn't matter WHERE, it just matters that you get it.

To tell you the truth, if I had breast cancer, I wouldn't give TWO ****S where that money came from. Would you? No. Hell no. You just want that f*cking cancer out. Am I right?

    I can see why they'd have a stake in something like this.

    All joking aside, the makers of pornographic websites (the legal ones, I mean) are people, too. One might not agree with their ideals, but in my mind, they're doing something that is truly altruistic, and it wouldn't be fair to them, or the people that the money would be going to help, if their money is turned down. Their money, to turn a phrase, is the same color as anyone else's.

    Personally, I find Pornhub's gesture somewhat endearing.

    I think it's unusual that a group like that WOULD donate, but I don't see why anyone should turn it down.

    It's like if a criminal wants to do community service, and the government refuses to let him. :dunno: What is the point?

    I feel sorry for the people working at the charity. I'm sure there were many people against turning down the money, seeing as utopia is impossible. I wonder how Pornhub feels about this, though. Being blatently turned down? That's a giant "society hates you" right there.

    At the end of the day, money is money. And this money was aquired legally too. If pornhub were mugging their users, then that would be a different story.

    Whether you like it or not, porn makes loads of money. Surely, the money would be put to better use if it's been used for research instead of just lying somewhere, gathering dust.

    To be honest, the porn industry makes more than TRIPLE Obama's salary. That's for the US alone.
