Lunar Shield's Back-story (The truth)

So, he's a god-tier OC with Dark Magic™ power, and is the child of two canon characters.

I'm sorry, but this is just not a good OC in any way, shape, or form.

Seriously , a god? Wasn't he overpowered enough before? Also, isn't he 1025? That would mean he was born around 25 years before Luna turned into Nightmare Moon and since Luna and Celestia fought Sombra before Luna turned into Nightmare Moon so he can't be the father of Lunar.

Nightmare moon was her own pony before she corrupted Luna. and no technically a god that was exaggeration but he is more powerful than Tia

She wasn't, Nightmare Moon was Luna "dark" side. And why does he have to be so overpowered?

This is a good example of a mary sue.

I find that hard to believe since you didn't mention any thing about him being a god or the son of Nightmare Moon and Sombra in your previous blog post. In fact, you didn't even knew who your oc's father would be, and in the character sheets for some of the rps you are in, you don't say anything about him being the son of Sombra or that he is an almighty god. Also, screw you too.

Other people are probably complaining because, in my experience in the schoolyard, nobody wants to play games if they know they're always going up against someone who will always win. In this case, the problem was that the character was written like the almighty protagonist of a story, who can only be defeated by an equally or more insanely overpowered villain. Regardless of whether of not the character is literally a god, that's a problem. Again, if the rules of the game are "I win", the game isn't fun for anyone but the person who made it.

In essence, by creating any sort of "Mary Sue" character, the creator places artificial limits on all other role-players. Their characters have to be godlike as well or risk being entirely irrelevant. Also, very few good stories can match that kind of immense plot favoritism brought on by the presence of a god in one's roleplay, so the creator of the roleplay is also hurt by this.

So yeah, that's why people are complaining.

i dont always win i just exaggerate alot

You can say that, but then it begs the question: what's to keep you from always winning if your character is literally a god, or at least godlike in power? Heck, even if you abandon the concept of a deity and your character sheds that persona, still you have to be careful of placing yourself far above the other roleplayers. Roleplaying isn't about how powerful you are, it's about how you interact with others. If your interactions are poor and predictable, then other people aren't going to like your character.

Sorry for the rant, but I was just trying to explain to those who wanted to know why some people were put off by the idea of this character.

Which would probably give other players a feeling that they only succeed by your submission; how you decide to interpret your character can control the game. In other words if you create a character like that, you win, people get frustrated and leave or you let other people win, with no alternatives. That action is nigh indefensible in roleplaying, since it really decreases the fun for everyone else no matter what you do. In my opinion, it's even just better to create an underpowered character and, if they need to be more powerful, grow their abilities over time.

no honestly his power is always reduced cause of a Lunar necklace he wears and i always even in my rps make sure to role play him as if he was a normal unicorn but that don't matter look at my recent blog entry and you'll see i changed his Bio and sheet

It's good that you made the change! At least it seems to be a move in a positive direction. I think the effectiveness of the necklace to nerf your character's power is debatable, but the decision to rewrite the character was a good one.
