My parent need to lay off the criticism

I got grounded from gaming for an entire month because I got a C in FST (for a test that over half the class failed, but I didn't).

I know that feel, bro.

I understand man. My parents are really killer on grades. The High A's or no internet. Bleh.

WELL.

Let's think.

A > B, right?

If A > B, then A should be the one you are striving for. Be fine with only the highest.

Aye matey. Thar be no arguing with the fools. Dig up your parent's records and show them that you're better than them.

Testy has the right idea. At the end of the day, an A is better than a B. While you may think that a high B is satisfactory, employers will only see a B.

However, even if you got a low A, employers will see it as an A, and you'll imediately come across as a better candidate.

Also, whatever you aim for, you almost always lose a few marks. So if you aim for that high A, you're almost guaranteed at least a high B, which is still a good grade. However, if you aim for a high B, you could end up getting a lower B.

The point is while you don't really distinguish between a high B and a low A, employers do. And unfortunately, you have to impress employers to get jobs nowadays.

I'm just saying for right now

That isn't really the habit you want to cultivate now. If you start from a younger age, then you won't have to spend extra time trying to move up from a B to an A.

I assume that you'll eventually want to achieve an A, so you might as well start now, so the future is slightly easier for you.

Try not to let them get to you too much. I know that strict parents can be incredibly annoying, mine are like that too. Focus on the work rather than thinking about the consequences of if you do badly. If you manage to successfully pull it off, you'll become a lot more confident when it comes to your assignments/exams. And more confidence/less worrying means that you'll do better.

My parents are the same way. The worst part is my sisters. They get praise for B's because they usually get C's, and I get criticism for B's because I usually get A's.

Absolutely sickening, but I just roll with it.
