Of Heart Cancer and Stupidity

I once said that cancer cells and stupidity have much in common: They both have little direction and both multiply rapidly, forming a useless lump and threatening our existence. Therefore, I believe that stupidity is the cancer of society and the cancer of us all. We all have encountered cancer in our lives at some point- Some more often than others, or some more often than not. But it is when these cancer cells rapidly multiply within us, what are we to do about it? How can we recognise it is there? Where does it come from?

The symptoms of heart cancer include: Chest pain, loss of consciousness, shortness of breath and anxiety. No matter who we are, we will come to experience these symptoms as a result of stupidity breeding in the heart. Your heart may feel pain or you may become short of comforting things to say. As anxiety boils to the surface, you may lose consciousness and 'give up' on life altogether. Which stage is your cancer currently at?

There are ways in which one can avoid 'heart cancer'. For instance, one may stay away from unhealthy foods; as much as the food is filling and appears much better than any other. We must remind ourselves that these 'unhealthy foods' do not always compensate for a good lifestyle. Though they cause us to appear glowing and joyous on the outside, cancer is rapidly taking hold of the heart. Are you able to recognise the difference between healthy and unhealthy foods?

We cannot let the cancer take hold of us or we risk losing consciousness, where the body will give up the reality we are in and fall into the darkness. After we have discovered the cancer, radiation will be our saviour. A radiation which makes us glow and rids us of our cancerous heart may be the ticket out of unconsciousness and we must recognise and embrace this ticket. Where does your radiation come from?

    My radiation is running.
    During middle school and the first year of highschool I had a horrendous time in life. The people around me were horrible and that in turn led to a horrible existence.
    However, sophomore year I got into running. It was slow at first of course and it really took a few months before I remained consistent with it, but as I did I felt the world around me change preportionaly. As I improved physically, I also began to improve mentally. I tossed my typical pessimistic and cynical disposition aside and began to adopt a much more optimistic view on the world. My relationships with my friends improved dramatically.
    I can't say for sure whether this was all due to my take to running, but the feeling it gives me everyday only continues to convince me to it. When I run I feel free, limitless, not a worry in the world besides simply improving myself in a recreational manner. At the ends, yes, I may feel utterly exhausted; my breathing always heavy, sweat pouring down my face, and legs shaking weakly. However, I revel in that feeling, it's as though I can physically feel myself becoming stronger, and that never fails to put an ecstatic smile on m face.

    Hm. Interesting, Zeph.

    I've had some very large relationship issues lately, beginning properly in mid-July (yet I believe the cancer started in March 2011 and I hadn't even noticed it). I definitely had all the symptoms of a steadily developing heart cancer and came close to unconsciousness. Very close, in fact. I recently re-read old diaries and was legitimately scared at what I found. How was it possible for me to be in such a place?

    My radiation began around 2 months after the cancer was discovered and the 'unhealthy foodstuffs' had in fact discarded me, rather than me discarding it. It forced me to notice the growing cancer. And so the radiation slowly began, exquisitely painful at first yet numbing. Numbing to the point that I've only shrugged over the last 2 family deaths and my grandfather's major operation (and very close death). Funny, that. I was more worried about my own cancer rather than the lives of others around me.

    The radiation hit its peak yesterday and I have never been happier. From June to now, I've lost a lot of my cynicism and have adopted a more positive attitude. Needless to say, ponies have helped with that and they have also doubled my social circle. Because of this, I've met many people and have made friends with many people I previously would not have spoken to. I could not be more grateful towards the fandom for leading me to my very special somepony; my radiation. As much as some might mock and as much as some might warn me that this is just some more 'unhealthy foodstuffs', I know it'll be safe. My radiation won't lead me to unconsciousness.

    I guess we all have to eventually go through hardships in life to find any form of improvement regardless of whether it's an emotional, mental, or physical state.

    It's always an odd little occurrence though, to be able to actively observe the change as it takes place and be given two drastically different points in time for contrast. The differences are usually surprisingly phenomenal

    Forgive me for asking, because I know this is going to sound beyond stupid, but is the heart cancer literal, or is it coupled with radiation as some sort of analogy that I may just be imagining completely?

    It's all a giant analogy which summarises my life experiences from June to now. All of it is a metaphor. Everything I have typed. And I find it ironic how you said: "This is going to sound beyond stupid"; y'know with the references and all... xD

    It was going to sound stupid either way but I had to make sure because I was all like:
    "Oh my god what it she really has heart cancer. I LOOK LIKE AN ASS." :B

    Don't worry. xD I bet most people were probably thinkin' the same as you! It was ​a fairly solid metaphor after all. Hehhe
