Rant of the week #6 [EXPLICIT. 18+ UNLESS OTHERWISE ALLOWED.]

So I study sexual habits and tendencies. I'm pretty interested in it, too. I like to know those interesting little tidbits about people, and how they came to be. Why people practice those fetishes are why I like to get to know people. I've been known to be a "sexual therapist" at times. I like to help people feel good about what they like.

What I ABSOLUTELY HATE, is seeing people be abused for their likes. I see a lot of it, too, so that doesn't help my temper. So this guy likes bondage, so that girl has a balloon fetish, WHO CARES? IF ANYTHING, IT'S GOOD TO HAVE THAT VARIETY IN THE WORLD. People should feel good about being diverse, and be proud to be different! Especially in bed! But NO. I see so many people get hurt because they open themselves up sexually to someone, and the other person is just inconsiderate.

    Don't see how this is 18+ really.

    But more on topic: It's pretty much the same as non-fetish sexual views. Gays, bisexuals, asexuals, etc. have been bashed as well. Just look at bronies! We're called gay 24/7!

    Well, I tend to view everything as a fetish, sooo. XD I never thought anything was one or the other. Everything is one. xD

    well yeah, I suppose I could be considered to have a few fetishes, I don't openly discuss them though, especially not in public, private maybe... I'm just shy about that sort of thing I guess.

    The thing I get bashed the most about is being Christian, and the funny part is, it's whenever theological discussions with my Athiest friends come up, and they are the ones who bring it up, don't get me wrong they are awesome people, it's just they can piss me off sometimes. They basically ask me to prove god exists, and then laugh and mock whenever I say religion is based on Faith, because if you have faith in something you can't see of know is there, it shows true loyalty, to that deity.

    I tend to view things the same way. Just because someone is into something different dosen't make it wrong.

    This here actually reminded me of something I did today at school. I asked everyone I saw to come up with a logical reason for why a fetish was wrong. You know what? Not a single person was able to answer. The only people who were actually able to answer admitted that there was no logical reason, but that the reason why it is socially unacceptable is because it cannot physically happen.

    While I admitted that it was true, I also pointed out that the 'normal' sexual fascination related with models and such is something that has an incredibly minuscule chance of happening as well, but conceded that the chance does still exist.

    The point is, that overall, there really is no difference other than that minuscule chance (Which, if you're wandering, is approximately 0.0000000684%), which isn't really big enough to be counted as a valid reasoning. So pretty much the whole reasoning behind it is that it is different from what their perceived idea of right is, therefore it must fall into a category of things they find wrong, in order to convince themselves that what they think is right. It's an irritating and common case of close-mindedness that people don't often consider as being close-minded.

    This is a topic that's hard for me to wrap my head around as I've tried and failed.

    Well... The reason I believe people are generally intolerant to sexuality is that things can go horribly horribly wrong. Things like rape, unwanted pregnancies, STDs and things of that nature come to mind. The potential for sex to ruin lives or kill stares us right in the face and that's why I think people can be obsessively cautious about it, making it into a taboo and everything.
