Reasons as to why I left (For those interested)

Don't you know by now if you wanna keep something drama-free on this site, the first thing you should do is not post anything at all?

That apparently didn't work.

We had some of the same reasons for wanting to leave the site.

I for one think you did a good job while you were here and I still remember the nice times we had on the radio together

Anyway,
the situation back when you left and even before that, when Foxy and I left, was just....hard...and that's quite the understatement, I think most people who were around at the time can agree with that.
Now I don't have a lot of insight into what the staff does these days, other than what I pick up from Foxy but the situation seems to have become a lot better since then.

In the end, it doesn't even matter. The site is as it is now, whether that be a good or a bad thing, only time can tell.

Zeph, you were a great admin. You may not think so, but you were. We all make mistakes, some more than others. We just have to realize we made them, learn from them, and then move on.

This is no exception, to all involved.

Zephyr, I found you to be helpful and pleasant here on the forum, admin or no. It's okay that there were things here you didn't like, or still don't like; I think everyone is guilty of having some conflicting emotions regarding our community. What stood out to me was how you conducted yourself; my expectations of anyone is just that they be courteous in general. As far as that goes, I would not say you failed to meet any expectation remotely associated with kindness or niceness. Thanks for always being cool around here.

You have every right to say what you want about this site, on the site, on tumblr or anywhere you like. No one will take that from you as long as I have a say in it, and I have a pretty damn big say.

But those who feel the need to defend EP, its staff or whatever against what you have said have the right to do so as well. You have every right to feel whatever offense, animosity or whatever feelings you have, but we, as individuals and as a site, have a right to say what we like too.

If you don't care what EP has to say about you or how you feel, then there's no reason to post here. Just do what you do on tumblr and we'll do what we do here. But whether you like it or not, people notice what you say, and if people don't like it, they'll say something too. It's how the internet works.

My advice? Don't care what people think. I learned that a long time ago.

You guys are held to a certain standard.

This means that you need to have restraint and have the common sense not to do something stupid like what happened today.

You have every right to defend people whom you want to from attacks.

You do not have the luxury of being so public with it. You guys are put up to a certain standard. You guys are supposed to be role models. The guys who newer members look up to and take examples from. As people so willfully say on the staff, you need to have tact, common sense, and the reasoning to not go off on a handle any time someone gets put on blast.

What happened today was the total opposite of that. One, some, or whatever amount of you, lost control, and someone should be held accountable for that. You can't blame anyone but yourselves for the backlash you may receive or any criticisms you may get because of this event.

If you are to hold me on the chopping block and say I have no right to speak on this matter, then you're probably right. I was a p. terrible mod because I let my emotions take control of my actions 99.9% of the time.

But don't ever stoop to my level. All of you know the consequences of that.

One post on tumblr should not equal a whole day of site drama. Period.

What you guys need, Foxy, is not to be so thin-skinned that you can't handle slight amounts of criticism (it wasn't even that bad, at all) that were made on another website and post it in the middle of Site Discussion as if it were actually relevant.

Your last statement, however, hits the nail on the head. You shouldn't care what other people think. If the staff didn't care what people thought, then that thread never would have happened.

Seriously guys, can't you hear yourselves? Just stop this and forget it ever happened. The thread was deleted, no harm done.

The staff can't be expected to be perfect. We have feelings and we will let it be known when those feelings are hurt in some way. For a long time, I would have agreed that we have to be role models, to show the users how to behave, but if we're stuck like that then we can't really be ourselves. This is a site for everypony, where everypony is meant to feel welcome and be themselves. The staff are not meant to be role models. The staff are meant to ensure that everyone is free to feel welcome and be themselves without hindering others ability to do so. They have every right to have an opinion, to express that opinion and be scrutinised as everyone else. They have the right to make mistakes like everyone else. You both should know the drama and stress that happens when you're expected to be perfect all the time. I'm the staff manager, I'm trying to make sure the staff are as stress free and happy with doing their jobs as possible. If they make a mistake, I let them know and deal with it accordingly.

So Henry, I have to disagree. They do have the luxury of being public with their opinions. If it causes a problem, then it will be dealt with. Otherwise, they have just as much rights as the users. They know they're being watched. They know they're under scrutiny. If they can't deal with it then they'll quit or be silent, but as long as they're able and happy to do their jobs, I'm not going to make them feel like they can't do anything anyone else is allowed to do.

Secondly, this is all I'm going to say in the matter. I have made it clear what I expect from the staff and it's up to them to do it. So yes, enjoy kittens and candy and fun!

I felt the need to post in here, because Zephyr is a cool dude. I've seen plenty of foibles from staff members (or heard about them before becoming staff myself), and you being admin doesn't even rank up on the scale. You give yourself too little credit for what you did while being an admin, and you've got my respect for what you did accomplish.

I heard about what happened, and I'm sorry to have heard about what transpired. I do peruse through your Tumblr, but that's because I still care about you, despite our paths having grown separate. I enjoyed working alongside you, and I'm still bummed we never got to do a joint Livestream DJ session properly.

I hope that you have been doing well, and that what happened doesn't put you off all of us entirely. Stay well, Zephyr.
