Our Atlanta-based brony group, Canterlanta, had a Nightmare Night meetup party last night at the Georgia Tech Student Center. All-in-all, I'd say about 20-30 people showed up. We watched the Nightmare Night episode, that "Come Little Children" Luna PMV, and the Flufflepuff Nightmare Night video. Some people brought plushes and blind bags to hang out. Myself, I brought a Luna plush, my Tara Strong-signed Twilight plush, and my Build-A-Bear Spike with a mustache (#25!). I received a bunch of compliments for the Luna and Twi plush, so that was pretty nice. The rest of the time was mostly spent eating and mingling. For me, though, it was eating and playing Pokemon X, something several people were doing. I made a lot of Pokemon friends there. :3
One of our members, David, spent a week making an amazing, delicious, and morbidly depressing cake for the occasion, of which he posted several photos on Facebook, and I will share. The cake was set at the castle ruins in the Everfree Forest, where the old Elements of Harmony orbs are held. Princess Twilight was lying on the ground, looking at a stained glass window of her and her friends vanquishing Nightmare Moon. She's sad and crestfallen because her friends are dead because she outlived them (disregard that McCarthy said this wouldn't happen). I pointed out to David jovially as we cut the cake that her friends are dead and now her world is falling to pieces (cutting the cake in slices). He laughed and hugged me, fake crying on my shoulder, saying the cake just keeps getting more morbid the more he thinks about it. xD
When it comes to contributions, I made a bowl of a spicy ranch, parmesan cheese party mix made up of Cheez-Its, Flamin' Hot Cheet-Ohs puffs, Flamin' Hot Chester's Puffcorn, and other party mix staples like pretzels.
All-in-all, it was a good time. ^_^ Pics ahoy! I didn't take these pics. I borrowed them from a couple people on Canterlanta.
