scootaloo: truely alone?

if you ever pay attention to the show you see sweetie belles family and appleblooms family. but we never see scootaloos parents. not even on family appreciation day. i often find myself wondering what happens after her scenes in the show. does she go back to a beautiful home with loving parents...or does she sleep in a cardboard box in some dark back alley (surprisingly many fics involve such an idea). i would really appreciate some feedback. tell me your ideas as to what happens to such a sweet, young filly.
