Sometimes I Feel the Site Doesn't Live Up to Its Motto.

Everypony. Where everypony is somepony.


You know, that phrase used to be true, in my eyes. Everything was just fine and dandy. Everyone felt welcome, everyone felt safe, everyone felt the joy of being here.

Over time, though, things have really changed. We have users leaving left and right, people even OPENLY claiming that the site isn't what it used to be, even after all we've done to try and support it and its people.



I try my absolute best to make sure that everyone is happy. I can't do that any more now that my job forces me to look like the bad guy in a lot of situations. I vowed that I would try to inform people of Staff Decisions if I ever became staff, but I am bound to secrecy by, yet again, my job.

I wish that I could say that the site I once knew was still alive, but now we're faced with insecurity, regret, and sadness. And nobody seems to care any more, sans a few people. They know who they are. :smile:


Sometimes... I just wish people would understand that not everything was about them and that not everything has to accomodate their every need.

All things, good or bad, come to an end eventually. I don't want this place to end any time soon, but unfortunately, with the way the site is going at its current state, it will... fail. And I do not want this to happen.


This place has become my home. And I will go far and wide to protect it and its people.

    well now..... This I like. Someone else that sees the site is failing and having issues.

    this is like the first time I don't feel dislike towards a mod. Lets see if it stays.

    I must say I disagree; Mods are, unfortunately, forced to be the bad guys sometimes. But if a user is doing something that forces a Mod to take action, then becoming the "bad guy" is not hurting the site. It is merely telling that user that they have overstepped the boundaries that were put in place by the site, and that they need to stop right there.

    This is not even close to telling anypony that they aren't somepony. This is called discipline, and it is needed if the site isn't going to devolve into a 4chan-like mess. Sure it's not fun, but it's needed.

    I don't know about this "bound to secrecy" stuff, but I honestly think the site, rules and staff included, is fine.
