The Fundamental Flaw of Fundamentalism

I've seen fundamentalists in all shapes and sizes, religious and non-devout, and as a part of any fandom.
However, there is one core concept that drives a fundamentalist to be they way he or she is: elitism.
Elitism is at the center of belief for every militant atheist, Christian, brony or what have you.
Elitism means that you're stupid and believe that you're better than everyone else just because of the way you've chosen to live your life.
Here's the thing, a smart person doesn't need to try and prove that they are smart. And if you're trying to prove that you're "smart" because of the lifestyle you live, then you're not smart. In fact, you're probably pretty shallow.
The truly smart people never say "I know FOR SURE", but instead accept that they don't know anything. This goes the same for fanboys who believe that they're the best for liking a certain show or owning a video game console.
Don't be dumb.
