The Winter Cousins, Newmoon and Comet

These are my Original Characters, you will see the family resemblance in both characters... I've put a little back story to them. With further adieu...

Name: Newmoon Winter
Gender: Male
Species: Unicorn
Looks: Light Brown, green mane and tail, red eyes
Cutie Mark: Black crescent moon with three stars
Personality: Shy, smart (like Twilight), generous, loves reading.
Talents: Magic, and can gallop like lightning (slightly slower than Rainbow Dash)
Flaws: Shy (much like Fluttershy), skiddish during thunderstorms, he is competitive when it comes to hoof races.
Location: Originally from Canterlot, but moved to Whitetail Woods just outside of Ponyville
Element: Hope

Who is he:
He was born in Canterlot, his parents were Lady Crescent Blitz and Lord Silver Winter. He has a long and old noble linage starting with his grandfather, Black Winter. When he was a young colt, he witnessed his parents killed by timberwolves, while they were collecting herbs. As the timberwolves tore at his parents, he constantly heard maniacal laughter come from a nearby cave. He awoke a week later at his home estate in Canterlot. From that point on, his grandfather took care of him, teaching him about magic. Growing in confidence, Black enrolled Newmoon into Celestia’s School for gifted unicorns, but alas he couldn't pass the entrance exam. To top it all off, he was teased because of the fact his cutie mark was strikingly smilar to Princess Luna’s. Embarrassed,He decided to move to Whitetail Woods just outside of Ponyville to continue practicing his magic. A few years later, his grandfather passed away. In Black’s will, half of his possessions went to Newmoon and the other half went to Newmoon’s cousin, Comet. Periodically Comet comes and visits him. He may look young, but he has more potential and knowledge that surpasses his age. He lives by himself in solitude, so he doesn't bother anyone while he practices the spells his grandfather gave him (mostly attack/defense and time spells), which he kept in a hollowed out stump. He finally built himself a house which he enchanted to fit all of his stuff. Outside looks like a three floor house inside a eternal springtime bubble. Inside is a whole lot bigger. Gender: Female
Species: Pegasus
Looks: Light Brown, teal mane and tail, green eyes
Cutie Mark: Comet
Personality: Shy, hardworking (like Applejack), isn’t afraid to get her hooves dirty, likes playing practical jokes.
Talents: Magic, and can fly like lightning,
Flaws: Very outgoing and she is competitive when it comes to competitions.
Location: Originally from Cloudsdale, but moved to the mountians outside Ponyville.
Element: Compassion

Who is she:
She was born in Clouudsdale, her parents are Amethyst Snow and Ember Winter. She was quite the quick to learn to fly. Her comet cutie mark as well as her speed made her quite popular during flight school, until she started to show she had the magical abilities of a unicorn, and bullied because of that fact. Unlike the unicorns, using their horns to concentrate their magic, Comet was able to concentrate her magic through her wings. As a filly, she often was sent to her grandfather, Black Winter, for magic training and would spend some time with her cousin, Newmoon. After her grandfather passed away, she moved to the mountians outside Ponyville in search of her cousin she spent her childhood together. She recently received special enchanted wing clips to help focus and control her magic more easily. The only ones who know of her magical ability are her cousin and her closest and most trusted friends.
