Thoughts of the site and its users.

Sorry to hear that you are stressed and I can understand why you are hurt by some of the stuff that is going on.

You take any breaks you need staff. You make the site what it is. A nice overall community where we can all chill, brohoof and smile.

If you've been hurt by anything I've said, I apologise. Personally, I'm fine with how the site is being run. I'm just offering a few other ideas that could possibly improve a site that I already love.

No matter what happens anywhere, you cannot make the users of the site know what it's like to actually run the entire site. From what I've seen, if you give the admins enough crap, they leave! Just the act of running it is stressful enough, but it's the users that cause all the issues.

I personally feel everything is being run fine, and that all the users are just being butthurt over nothing important.

I know that you guys do put a lot of time into the site to keep it running, and trying to keep the users happy. I can see how all of that could pile up, and get pretty stressful, but so far you guys have done a great job! And I do see the point Jhera is making I really dont know how hard running site for you guys, and again users do cause all the issues...

I did make this suggestion somewhere, (I don't remember where, but...) here's a really strange thought...

A member of the staff who is able to police/coach other members of the staff about their behavior.

Of course, it'd have to be someone who is well spoken and mature enough, but think of it as an idea. The end result may be a better outlook on the perception the members have of the staff as a whole.

I've just realised that my comment may make me sound like a jerk. So I'd like to apologise again and say that the admins have done a great job turning this site into what it is now.

...which is exactly why I gave up being a moderator on other sites. It's a thankless job without even a paycheck as compensation. Kudos to you for sticking with it this long.

One part of your post stuck a chord with me though, "trying to keep everyone happy."

...you know that's impossible, right? Not everyone is going to be happy with everything on this site, and no amount of effort, time or compromise is going to change that. All you'll end up doing is chasing your tail in circles and stressing yourself out. Remember, you can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

I commend your efforts to listen to everyone's complaints and suggestions and doing the best you can to improve this site for everyone, I really do. However, what I think you should do is to think about YOUR vision of what this sites future is. What direction do you want to take? You're the boss man now Foxy, so you get to ultimately decide where we go from here. I think that, if you have a clear vision of where you want this site to go, whether it change or stay the same, you should pursue it. If you lead, people will follow. And we're here to support you all the way. You have a dedicated staff and loyal members, so you'll be fine.

There will always be dissidents, so take all advice and complaints in consideration, but don't bend over backwards to try and please everyone because it won't happen and you'll just run yourself ragged.

Well, there have been ALOT of new members flooding into the site. But just know that we think you do a great job of running this site.

Foxy, you work your flank off for us FOR FREE. You try to do everything we want and more.
What do we do but go and make you feel guilty about the fact that you aren't an Admin God.

I respect you utterly. If you were to ask me to leave the forum right now, for good, I would do it. I wouldn't be happy about it, but I'd do it. That's how much I respect you.
(Please don't, by the way. )

But seriously, I hate that you and the staff are being treated this way. I don't feel that any of the staff are playing for power, but perhaps mistakes have been made. So? They aren't flawless, ponies. As Foxy said, give the staff a break. Please. Try to be respectful, everypony. These are the people who are on here, trying to make our lives better, for free. Why are we making their lives worse, then?

@B-Dog - Offering suggestions is what we want. We like hearing from you guys and don't you dare stop.

@Frost - I don't know if it's nerves or I'm just a sappy git, but reading your post actually made me cry. Thank you, those words truly mean the world to me, and it's definitely made things clearer. If I could, I'd hug you 'til my arms hurt, but this picture will have to do.

In all seriousness though, thank you guys. Thank you all. Reading back over it, I may have made it seem worse than it is, but it really feels good to know that there are guys like you that appreciate everything we do.

@Frost pretty much hit the nail on the head, no matter how hard any of us try there will ALWAYS be someone who thinks it's not good enough. Just look at the British Government vs Public.
You're doing just fine, so don't take it to heart.
