What to do?

Well today my dad suddenly screamed at me about my not doing anything, but I don't quite see what I'm supposed to do. My mother washes the dishes and does laundry, my employment is entirely up to her getting me applications and driving me to whatever job I choose to do. I'm 16 and not in drivers ed, so even If I drove 30 hours in the next week it'll still be two years until I can drive on my own. I have no interest in sports. Not even mowing the lawn would be a daily thing. And he doesn't realize that I'm being productive by trying to learn JavaScript. I just needed to vent.

    I'm actually in roughly the same boat.

    Even though I do keep myself busy, I'm unemployed (Everypony Admin doesn't count because we're all volunteers, FYI) and between university courses. So, while I attempt to magic up a job, I've been trying to learn various coding methods, make videos and generally keep myself from going completely nuts.

    The issue is that is appears to be that I'm just sat in front of my laptop for hours on end doing very little. Kinda hard to make my case when I appear as active and most snails.

    Well, as much as your going to a job for work might be based on catching a ride, you don't necessarily need that ride to get an application. Try going out on your own one day, dressed well and prepared with the knowledge of your social security number and maybe a couple references from people who know you, to get applications. You can walk. It's hard and it will take maybe days of commitment and maybe you still won't get a job. I didn't when I tried it, but it satisfied my parents that I was looking.

    I probably should have mentioned that I don't own any form of transportation and live roughly 17 miles from town. A very small, 1000 person population town. It would just be more convenient to wait for my mother to give me a ride or pick up applications for me. I see where you're coming from and it would be fine advice... If I lived within reasonable walking distance of town.
