Well, Im back, may not be posting on the forum for a bit, but Ill be around. I started my enlistment process for the Army Reserves, In a week or a few, I will be getting paperwork filled out and ASVAB completed. I am hoping I will be able to do the split option training program. I feel confident about this, and I know I said Marine Corp, but I figured, 1: Army has a medical MOS I can do, 2: Marine Corp is mainly a infantry type of group, I know they have more MOS's but Im not interested in them. 3: The Reserves I can serve my country, but also build a civilian career along side a Army Career. I will have the best of both worlds. Ive given it some serious thought, and I am taking my steps lightly to complete this and make sure I will not be ****ed over. Any questions my brony and pegusister friends?
Hey all, I got the some news. I will be at a leave of absence for a little bit, at least until Mid to late August. I will be moving to Georgia in the latter part of this month (June). On the bright side, when school starts up down there, I will start talking to a Recruiter for the U.S. Army to become a combat medic. I've been busy as it is now, and I apologies for not being around... I will give updates as soon as I get back to being me on here. Thank you for understanding and talk to y'all in a few months
Hey all, I've been MIA honestly. I'm sorry for those who follow, or care. I've been busy with school, drill, and job, yeah I have a job now. I'm still alive and all that, and tomorrow getting the New Uniform. NWU's for the win xD. I will be giving updates as they come, and when I'm awake, so be on the look out for more updates!
Sorry ponies, I've been busy, way busy. I've been job searching, running, working out, JROTC stuff, Staff JROTC stuff, Sea Cadet drill, rat giving birth, and just homework. I'm tired, and I havent had a single weekend this month to relax, good thing I have a week off, haha. So I have some updates. My Sea Cadet Division is finally switching over to NWU's more comfy. I can run a mile and 3/4 no problem I can easily do 50 push ups in 1 minute :3 Sit ups have improved. My Moral has gone up, Finally, I figure out a good hair cut for me to sport between now and boot camp and then from SOI to I die. View attachment 6840 And now, for something completely different.
So today went on base with the NSCC for some "qualifying" with the .22 rifles. Not a big round I know, but hey it's a start for firing real weapons. I grabbed my target as told marks P for practice, and Q for Qualifying. I was given 10 practice rounds, and I found my spot. My shots were everywhere on that target. Finally came the Qualifying round, 20 bullets to go with. I had a target a good 10 to 20 meters away on an indoor range. I loaded the bolt, clicked it home, and fired the first shot. Direct hit center. I started to forget my problems, I heard nothing and felt nothing, I quickly *to me it was slowly* loaded in the rounds one after the other, click, boom, click, boom, click boom, hitting in or around the center. What I thought was 10 minutes, was actually 2 minutes. My buddy looked at me and was like, you needed to chill dude, I was chilled though. I told him this and he was like, dude you flew through those rounds. I waited for everyone to finish. My target came in, a very good grouping in the left of the center hitting 10, and 9, and 4 times in the 8 area. I scored a 182 in total. To be an "expert" marksman, you needed 175. This just helped me realize my potential and the skill I have, I looked forward to firing bigger weapons. So what this has taught me was just that my zen is on the range. I can hit my target once I get that spot and that I'm ultimately calm. This will help in the Marine Corp, (god forbid) I have to see combat. Also we didn't have scopes, it was pure iron sights.
Well, my first blog about my Journey starting. Well lets get started. This week held nothing much, I did about 300 push ups in total this week, not too much considering. Sit ups I did 100 at most and in total. Drill, Colorguard, and all that I was able to get done this week. No problems what so ever. I can't say I made any progress this week but I did good none the less. Next Saturday, I have marksmanship training with Sea Cadets, and it will be the first time I will be firing any type of weapon (its a .22 rifle at the prone position, simple right?) I'll give you an update then ^-^
Alright so I'm going to start doing a weekly blog about just, my journey into the U.S.M.C. at most, I'll update my physical condition along with what I did to prepare myself for it all. It won't be until a year from now I will get into the Meat and Potatoes of things like talking to a recruiter, and such. I do plan on keeping this updated until maybe 3 months into Fleet, (When I actually leave training phases to get my official first battalion and such.) I'm more so writing this to just let people see a bit more human I am and do actually show people that goals are achievable, no matter how scary or far away they may seem. It's also to show people that hard work, and emotional, situational, and about everything in life can effect you. I also will have this open for questions and such for you all to ask me when you actually get confused or hung up on something, whether you tried it and failed or you just don't understand something. Expect next entry at Feb 16, 2013 between the times of 18:00 to 22:00.
