The long-awaited Metroid 5 has come. Metroid fans have rumored this game for years, speculations and wonders as to what would happen. No game. No answers. 20 years later, today, Nintendo finally answers the questions we all have. Samus returns to fight, but the robotic foes she fights are seemingly invincible and unharmed by her weaponry. Can she survive? On October 8th of this year, we will find out what will happen to our titular bounty hunter. (Note: The bottom option on the poll has a typo. It says 'I do care for it' instead of 'I don't care for it'. I'd fix it but the options are set now.)
I've been too focused on dead by daylight that I didn't even watch the direct. Read a summary and it seems the best thing they announced was this game. Kinda disapointed of the direct. Even Kazuya for smash feels meh. They can't emulate the complexity of tekken in smash bros. It's gonna suck like ryu and ken. As for metroid... eh, have to catch up with too many games and I'm not a huge fan anyway despite enjoying metroidvania style games.
It's Metroid. It's not fully 3D. I'm getting it. >^_^< (I selected the second option, but I'd like to clarify real quick that I have no real fondness for the Prime games. 3D games in general aren't my jam---give me side-scrolling platformers any day. Also, I didn't watch the Direct.)
I honestly didn't watch the direct either. Anyway. No biggie. There are alot of points to start playing again~ Heck I played Original Metroid when I was young and didn't play Metroid games again till Fusion. But if the games are not really your thing, it's perfectly understandable~ Ah, you are one of those that like the 2D stuff more. That's fine~ And to be honest, the second option was accounting for newer fans who played the Prime games. Though I do get that they are not just anyone's cup of tea. I personally like them, like the rest of it~ Though I did find myself on the side upset at Other M and Federation Force. I never did touch Federation Force, honestly. It could of been decent, just the whole playing as Galactic Federation troopers kinda was a turn off.
On that note, you ever play Zero Mission? If so, what's your thoughts on it? One thing I won't argue with regarding Prime is the music, though. What little I've heard of it, I've enjoyed.
I ended up playing Zero Mission after Fusion and I personally think Zero Mission is the definitive way to play Original Metroid now~ Don't get me wrong, I have nostalgia for the Original NES one. But playing it reminded me how clunky the controls were and how hard the game itself is. But it's one of those games, despite its issues, I somehow enjoy playing. As for Zero Mission though. I like how obtaining the Space Jump, Gravity Suit, and Plasma Beam was handled. When you come across these items, they are marked as incompatible items with your current suit. But you can get the other items, barring the power bombs that obtainable in the second half of the game, like normal. It makes that boss in Chozodia more rewarding when you beat it. Unlocking the true potential of Samus's power suit, gaining access to the three items that previously were unusable. Plus the space pirates having more of the presence in the game does add to it. Showing they are the reason for the BS on Zebes. And shows how Samus became their adversary, to begin with. Power Grip was a brilliant addition too. Giving Samus another mobility option to help when dealing with ledges. The Prime Series's music is phenomenal in my opinion~ It can be atmospheric, explain a situation, or let you know something new is open~ There is no doubt that some serious thought was put into it~ It made playing the Prime games fun to play and basically puts you in Samus's perspective of everything~
