Word of advice, watch the lets play and decide for yourself. asking people in another game means your gonna get a response from die hard fans of the game your asking in most likely there gonna always side with the most popular game, or the game they have been playing the longest also -facepalm- i knew forgot to set this to games
I know that, but because i used to be a WoW player myself, i was never really interested in anything else. One MMO is expensive enough, thank you. :derpe: I'll give the video up there a view when i can. My internet connection doesn't really allow youtube vids atm.
I.ll only state this, at the moment the payment plane for Guild wars 2 is subscription free unlike WoW, meaning you just pay for the game itself and nothing more, but there are Rumors that it would go Pay to Play depending at if the game does well or not, this is due mostly to the fact that in the U.S the box set says subscription free, but the UA doesn't
Well, I was lucky enough to have a friend buy me GW2 since we are starting a guild for GW2 (already looking at about 12 people from various other games joining us) so I'm gonna be playing it. I sadly missed the open beta testing for the game but there is supposed to be a stress test from 3pm-7pm EST(GMT-5) on Aug 2nd(tomorrow) so I'm going to play around with the game in those 4 short hours the stress test will be going on(only people who have per-purchased the game can do the stress test apparently). May take some screenies and maybe some video. whats your guilds name? as the LP/Reviews said, its best to get in this game with some people on your side, i myself have only heard of Guild wars2 recently, so im two late to pre-purches without getting the collectors addition
The guild I'm going to be in is going to be called "Reverse Entropy". The reason they say you want people on your side is because they designed the game to dynamically evolve based on what everyone does so if person A does one action, it will directly change person B's experience, even if your not in that person's group (its explained better in some youtube vids) If you want some more details about the guild I'm gonna be with, send me a pm(don't wanna spam this thread with "pls join meh guild plz" lol).
oh im sure with world vs world there will be allot of that going on in the game. me, imma try get a allot of necros together and make a army the battlefield will be filled with the walking dead
Played the stress test and even though they had a few things broken during the stress test (the party system wouldn't allow people to make parties and would occasionally crash people's clients, but that's to be expected with a stress test) was LOVING how the game worked and played. It was just a mass of people helping other people and it was amazing $.$ And for the first boss fight, not gonna spoil it but, I was 100% satisfied. Too bad this test only lasted 4 hours... I saw the vid, It looked really quite interesting, but I don't want to hype myself up for it at this point. I would consider myself as one who won't get it...YET. I'll wait a couple months or so before I reassess my thoughts and opinions as well as others. Too often have I over-hyped for games which lead to disappointments (most notably The Old Republic) I will keep this one in mind though, I got a distant friend who will be playing it in an Aussie Guild. If I remember, I'll keep ya posted :3
I got in a little PvP, but I wasn't too good at it control wise. Was playing Aion for a long time and still used to that control scheme(using the mouse to move). The way GW2 plays control wise reminds me more of the controls in CS/CS:Source(WASD,# keys, F# keys, strafe keys [q and e]) and I didn't find a "click-to-move" option so yeah. As far as the skills and stuff goes, you play GW1 and then GW2 and you end up saying "Wow, are these even related?!"(in a good way) I hear you there, I wasn't gonna get GW2 til it was out for a bit but not like I'm gonna refuse a friend gifting me the game lol.
My boyfriend had pre-purchased a copy for each of us as a birthday present. I've been waiting for it now for 7 years and just recently got him into it. My only hope right now is that my laptop has enough space to install and innards to be able to run it.
So lets revive this thread, I mean Guildwars 2 is out now and all i can think of is : Wow! Tahts amazing! Im Playing a Charr Warrior on the Server Elonas Reach and it is sooo awesome! Its like a huge playground, and i love that its the beginning of the game, if you own 5 gold you are rich, not like WoW, whre you hae thousands and thousands of gold.. Well it will change over time. So whats your experiance? What champions have you fought? I fought the Champion Giant in the Charr sektor and Behemoth in Godslost Swamp. There were like hundreds of players just for him... and nice green loot

I got this game recently too, I play on the server "Gate of Madness", and we've got a guild "Equestria's Finest [PONI]". I'm Caberea there dosen't need to be a .#### after that name for mine (But i do have one that I'm prone to forgetting, I'm the only one with it in the game. Oh yes, and this game is bucking awesome. I used to play WoW, but it felt like complete rubbish compared to this. After playing GW2, I said to myself "WoW is just there to earn money, Cata and Panda's have clearly shown they don't give a damn about making the game good. But GW2 is AWESOME!!!"
