So, for those of you who read the Naruto manga, it was a historical day indeed. Tobi is officially revealed, and many fans are ****storming over it. How do you guys feel about the revelation? Spoiler: Naruto Spoilers!!
That shocked me but what I don't understand though is why did he tell Itachi and Sasuke that he's Madara.
Same reason why he told everyone else? He went through incredible lengths to prevent anyone from figuring out who he really was. ...except for that one time when he showed his face to Kisame. Still trying to figure out that connection.
Ok, I'm not going to spoil myself because I'm way too behind. I was already spoiled by someone who said Tobi wasn't Madara a while back. I will say this, though. He better not be f***ing Obito. I hate that theory so much and I cannot fathom why a random kid whose only importance was to Kakashi would start a war and try to take over. Plus, if he was Obito, who did Minato fight when Naruto was born? I may be getting my lore wrong, however, so dismiss this random ranting.

Makes no sense yet. My take on this: Spoiler: Spoilers HA! HAHAHAHAHAHA! I FREAKING called it! I've been saying he's Obito for YEARS, ever since he first showed up. I didn't even know it was a fan theory. It was just my own thought. And Windy, his only importance that we know of is to Kakashi. That's what flashbacks are for.
So many flashbacks in this arc. >.< I hate being so far behind, so much has been spoiled for me. I'm still WAY back when Tobi reveals the Edo Jinchuriki! Spoiler: rage incoming ....and now I have to deal with Obito being Tobi. All the fan theories spouting, "ohohoho, Tobi is just the letters in Obito mixed around with an O missing." I can't believe it turned out like that. Obito was just a random annoying kid and now he's an OP, phase-through-anything, reality-changing, bringer of armageddon?! He was the Masked Man who fought Minato?! *Throws so many tables around* I don't think I'm acting rationally. >_<
Wow... I have no qualms about losing interest in Naruto (and Bleach) years ago. Thank you for reiterating the reasons why.
How have I not seen this thread before? I was a little surprised, insanely confused, and a little disappointed that Kishimoto went with the most obvious answer to "Who is the man behind the mask?" There's a LOT of explaining that is needed for all this to make sense. The fact that he was strong enough to face Minato a few short years after being rescued. Senju DNA or not, no one should make that much of an improvement. I also question how Kisame recognized him as Madara even though their history goes back to before Obito was even born. Obito was one of my favorite side characters, even though he was just a fodder Uchiha so I am quite disappointed, but hopefully it explains well how he became so twisted. At this point though, redemption is impossible because that jerk killed Konan! There is a big mess with the timeline of this whole thing and in order for it to be explained thoroughly, it will take quite a few chapters. I want to see what will become of the Kages and Sasuke/Orochimaru. Sasuke is questioning his resolve so it can go anywhere at this point. Madara beat the 5 Kages like a kid playing with lego guys. Naruto may be strong and have Kurama on his side now, but against the perfect Susano'o, among other things, I just don't see him ever winning unless somebody steps in. A lot of people at the NarutoBase forum suspect that Sasuke will step in. The only evidence against that is that Orochimaru said he would take Sasuke to a place he knows well.
Not to mention Tobi was an adult when he faced Minato when he should've been 16-17. (I mean, we even saw Kakashi during that same flashback <_<) As for Sasuke, i think he'll arrive at the battlefield and choose wether he wants to side with the last remains of the Uchiha clan or side with Konoha. Or join Obito and Madara and switch sides at some point.
We saw Kakashi and Guy in that flashback. But also, when Tobi was hit with that Rasengan, his left arm was melting with that nasty senju goo. His left arm was perfectly fine after he was crushed. Oops, misread. I thought you said we didn't see Kakashi in the flashback. -.-
