The Electronic Entertainment Expo, commonly known as E3, is an annual trade show for the computer and video games industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). It is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware. E3 is widely considered to be the ultimate expo in the video game industry[1] and major video game critics routinely document the event and sometimes even provide a series of E3 awards. Video game companies generally spend more on their presentations for E3 than any other convention. Major video game critics often have a "best of E3" award session (similar to end-of-year award sessions), and only E3 consistently features such awards. After reaching a record attendance of nearly 70,000 people in 2005 and 60,000 in 2006, E3 was transformed into invitation-only in 2007 and 2008. A separate conference called the Entertainment for All Expo was held those years to accommodate the public demand for a major, annual video game event. However, it did not replicate E3's success and was abandoned. E3 is commonly held in late May or early June of each year at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) in Los Angeles, and is held there from June 7 to June 9 in 2011. In 2007, the convention was exceptionally held from July 11 to July 13 in Santa Monica, California. All timings are approximate and subject to change without notice. Yeah, me too. I'm working on the template now. I really hate Kinect right now - what the *squee!* is this bull*squee!* with Disney? And them acting to play a game?
I'm watching the conferences on SpikeTV and G4 (ick and ick) as they air since I'm not keen on sitting at the computer. Microsofts conference was lulz worthy; Tons of lame going on. The only bits that really surprised me were the Tomb Raider demonstration and the Halo 4 reveal. EAs was a bit better, with Battlefield 3 and that game with the four agents being the stand-outs. And did anyone else besides me get a laugh out of the fact that EAs stage had gimmicks and celebrities AFTER the man at the beginning took jabs at Microsoft for having the same thing? I don't know what to expect from Sony, but whatever they have to show has got to be better than Microsoft. I expect Nintendo, however, to blow me away.
^ Pretty much my reaction to the entire Sony conference. Only thing I got out of it was the September release window for the Ico collection.
WHA?!?! I thought Sony had this in the bag. They had soo much awesome stuff, and very interesting titles coming... Not to mention LBPV. You have NO idea how jumpy that makes the LBP community.
Eh, western gaming doesn't interest me much outside of a few token series, an that's all Sony had to offer tonight. LittleBigPlanet is fine, but I'm happy with the console outings. Never was much of a handheld gamer outside of Pokemon.
It was OK, I guess, but... Oh God, today, in 7 hours from now on, starts Nintendo's Press conference! PROJECT CAFE... Obviously the highlight and most anticipated part of the show.
Gears of War 3 [Campaign] that's 12AM (midnight) my time.. Guess I'm staying up - see you guys in teh chat ;p
Nintendo's E3 conference was amazing. One thing though; See the Fraps watermark? That was present in one of the clips of the Tom Clancy game. Let's all point and laugh!
what the hell, Nintendo... just what the hell... I mean, I mean... damn Nintendo... it's... damn... You guys really... damn... er... damn... my freaking expectations... damn... pff... uhm... ermm.... damn. I am speechless. I think the console itself is as big as those controllers. The "gamepad" (more like Ipad) is... pff... God, I pray that's gonna get scratched from the damn list they made for the Wii 2 (or Wii U, whatever). And, IRONY! People did this with older Nintendo consoles like at least 4 years before this. (this is just one of them) At least this proves, a little, that they all actually didn't play the games, just act.
The footage referred to was a montage of third-party titles. It was obvious they weren't playing the games; they can't switch between titles like that in real time!
