I've been a massive fan of this specific final fantasy game since it came out. I had played and adored final fantasies 6-9 before this (not in order, however), but found that 10 was my favorite (and still is). While I gather that fans of the series in general enjoy the game, I still have yet to hear much of an opinion. What exactly do people think about FFX? I know some would say this is when the series started to go downhill, but to be honest I've heard that argument placed for each entry after the first one... Thoughts on the game?
In my opinion, FFX was the first step towards the doom of the franchise, but all in all still an awesome game. Not to mention it still has the most emotional ending i've ever seen in a game. After that though, the franchise went from bad to awful.
I have fond memories of FFX, especially its battle theme, battle system, and Auron. I played it when I was younger initially, but even when I replayed it later on, I could see that it's a good game. I agree that it was the first step towards... the Final Fantasy we know now... *hangs head* but Final Fantasy X is a fantastic game nonetheless.
I think that scene was just a case of terrible directing... I mean don't get me wrong, the voice actors for that game were bad, but they're not THAT bad. Maybe no one explained the point of the forced laughing to them.
The problem with the english version of FFX was that they had to both translate the japanese AND make sure the dialogue still matched the lip movements. As for the laughing scene, it was meant to sound as forced as it did. MLP just owns everything, doesn't it?
The tone of the game didn't really appeal to me, but the characters were pretty awesome. Wakka, Auron, Jecht, Blue Chewbacca, and Yuna were all my favorites. Seymour is such an awful name for a villain though.
Not my favourite of the series. That goes to either VI or VII... Though I also liked III. ANYWAY, it was a pretty good game, though Tidus in general was a bit annoying... :S Damn, I'd forced this scene out of my head... It's all coming back now...
I love X. It was this RPG I played and really understood the mechanics of, and it's what made me fall in love with RPGs, so it will always have a special place for me. That, said, it's not my favorite FF, nor is it in the top 5. My top 5 are IX, XII, VI, VIII, and IV. I look forward to the digital remaster of X coming to the PS3 though. It was ok I thought, the pacing of the game was pretty slow and I was never able to beat Sin at the end, but all in all a good game.
Final Fantasy X was my first JRPG and I was hooked. When I was a kid, I didn't think there was a harder game out there. Buuuuuuut that problem has to do with the fact I had only played games like Spyro and Crash bandicoot before hand and the words like grinding were foreign to me. Needless to say, I beat that game waay under leveled and by the skin of my teeth. When I replayed it a few years ago, my feelings were a bit more mixed than my original jubilation over the title. Having played alot of games since then, I was able to appericate the good mechanics of the game's battle system, like having monster types weak to one party member, the good score and the interesting story. However, I also was painfully aware of what it did wrong like the voice acting, the slow pace, some plot holes and story hiccups. All that said, I still like the title. It's a solid JRPG and one of the better Final Fantasies. So...should I be the guy who brings up the game's red headed step-sister: Final Fantasy X-2?
