Huh. You're right. I can't either. I was going off secondhand info, but the guy seemed quite sure of himself. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
Well, at least there's a playable demo out there on teh interwebs and it is insanely fun, so it wasn't entirely for nothing. I'm kinda hoping that one of the team members who "left" will finish the game secretly and release it into the wild when Hasbro's not looking (after the heat dies down, of course). After all, once it's out, it's out and they can't do a thing about it.
You say this as if Mane6 is finished. As they've clearly stated on their site, their fight has just begun and they have several options before them. Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk 2
At least Welcome To Ponyville hasn't been cancelled/ given a cease and desist letter I really want Fillygamez to release Act Two of the game.
More info has been released by mane 6. http://www.mane6.com/2013/02/c-megapost.html Sadly, they were only 2 months away from a public beta release with all 6.
Joining in a bit late here, but we never know. If we keep are hooves crossed, Hasbro might give the developers permission. Please god, please! View attachment 6535
That's the thing, they don't need Hasbro's permission. Regardless of what Hasbro says or thinks, the game would undoubtedly count as parody and therefore be protected. Mane6 is letting themselves be bullied by corporate goons who have no right to do so. That's why I'm hoping someone (whether it's a former team member or a completely independent entity that they've never met or spoken to before) will finish it and get it out there. Whether we all agree with it or not, open defience is the only meaningful way to protest, to show these morons they can't win. They might slow us down temporarily, but they will never stop us completely.
This. It's a fandom that I'm definitely happy to be part of, but we're still just a group with a common interest. We aren't making history here, but I'm fine with that. Still having plenty of fun here. l3
Now that right there, that just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Nice to see they haven't thrown in the towel just yet.
If by "letting themselves be bullied," you mean "fighting the cease and desist order as best they can," then yes.
Mane6 would have to sue Hasbro if they think the cease and desist order is unfair. And trust me, they don't have the funds to sue Hasbro. :derpe:
Here we are. Mane6 blogged this. https://www.wepay.com/donations/evo2013-mlp They've since removed it from their site though.
