What do you guys think of them? Theyre making me want to buy a wiiu and stick to older generation gaming. Like 720 I heard you have to pay extra to play used games and ps4 wont be backwards compatable. The Wii U right niw anyway seems to be the more legit one for me. What about you guys?
Ps4 already lost me with no backwards compatibility. I know nothing of the new Xbox except that no used game thing. That doesn't bother me to much. The wiiu is still a kids toy mostly. I don't even game much anymore so I'll just stick with my PC I guess.
If the no used game rumor is right. I can't wait to see the affect on GameStop. If its only Xbox it can't be that bad.
PS4, no thanks. Everything I heard about the new xbox is just stupid, but we'll see. I've played a Wii like twice, so I'm not into that. I just like playing my NES. Just as good and reliable as it was 20 years ago.
Definetely not a Sony Fan, and I only like Xbox because of the exclusives- I'm likely to get neither the Xbox 720, nor the PS4 and probably not touching that wii u, I'll probably just stick with my gaming PC.
Anyone have a link on the stuff? Seems everyone doesnt like new gen. I still doblike nintendo trying to make it family oriented and bring people together in person instead of just voice. Of course I like face to face
As a shameless Sony fanboy, I shall be getting the PS4. Backwards compatibility is a nonissue to me, it's not like I'm throwing out my PS3. Besides, the PSN ID will transfer and that's what I care about. The "Share" button seems a little iffy, but if it means having an easier time recording gameplay then I'm all for it. Oh, and that controller is lovely~ As for the others, Wii U feels like the same old Nintendo stuff, for good or ill. Xbox has some unsettling rumors going on and a lack of new IPs, and the PC just laughs at my empty wallet.
I just don't want another console taking up space. I already have a 360,wii,PS3 and a PS2 hooked up. I don't want 3 of sony consoles there. That's silly.
The Xbox and Playstation are pretty much gaming PCs without the open-endedness (with the exception of a few exclusive games and a fancy controller). The WiiU looks promising although, if it's anything like the Wii, only Nintendo will know how to make decent games for it. I hardly game but if I was to get one of these, I'd get the WiiU and just buy a gaming PC (and stick to handheld games/emulating).
I too have a ps2, 360 & a wii. Old gen games have been best so far. Emulators are great for pc stuff also. How will the recording thing work for ps4 & will they keep the store there to buy the older games too? - - Auto Merge - - I too have a ps2, 360 & a wii. Old gen games have been best so far. I haven't much about them, I'll prolly wait awhile til more things are confirmed. Either way I wouldn't get any new console within a year or so of it's release, I always give them time to work out the bugs before I buy a new one. If I got any of them it'd prolly be the 720, I've never really been a fan of Sony and I despise the Wii. I have the 360, and almost half my games are used. To me it's rarely worth it to buy a game brand new for $60, unless it's something phenomenal that I really want. Typically after a few months you can find those games much cheaper used, and after enough time goes by you can find them new for like $20. Maybe if I had Xbox Live it'd be different, trying to get up in rankings at the same time as everyone else or whatever, but since I don't have Live I don't have a reason not to wait for a game to fall in price. However, I think you need Live for the 720, I heard something about them making ALL games downloadable, no hard copies anymore or something like that. I'm seriously against this for many reasons. I'm also against not being able to play used games, or be able to borrow and play a friend's game. What happened to sharing? What happened to friends bringing games over to play together? ...oh, right. The internet.
I prefer using my PC and a controller since, at least, my computer can be upgraded, customized, and managed without the burden (for the most part) of crappy OS frameworks. I still dislike Steam greatly and it is gradually monopolizing online PC gaming. Shame.
indeed it does. The technology looks good. there just is no hype. The industry has gone stagnant though there needs to be some changes or it very well will die out. i'm switching to pc gameing.
They need some new games. They're milking all the old popular games like Halo, CoD, and don't get me started with Guitar Hero. All great games in the past, but seriously, cut the cord already. I only turn my xbox on to talk to friends these days. NES > Everything
That probably won't happen since companies are interested in making money, not games. It's safer for them to make a game for a current series (which the fans will buy without thinking) than to try and come up with a new idea (which may end up failing).
