I have a weird relationship with djent. I normally don't like it, but for some reason I'm fine with Tesseract and Periphery, and Ocean goes that direction occasionally. Maybe it's just Meshuggah I don't like. lol
Wow, I hate a lot of Djent bands, though the only djent band that I'm fine with is Meshuggah. As for The Ocean they're more on the Post-Metal/Atmospheric Sludge side rather than Djent, so I guess that's why I like them as well. Though speaking of Atmospheric Sludge, Cult of Luna had released an album earlier this year, there's quite some debate on it, though I think that it's an excellent album, maybe not as good as their other stuff, but still great. I guess our tastes are just opposite then. XD I'm not into sludge or any atmospheric music really. I prefer my stuff to sound well... crisper. More melodic, less manly, you know. Like I said before, metalcore and its relatives are pretty new to me and I'm rather picky about them. Normally I live in symphonic/prog/powerland. Among my recent purchases in those genres are Avantasia, Protest the Hero, and Luca Turilli's new Rhapsody. Also--and I can't believe I forgot to mention them earlier--Seventh Wonder. They have a new record set to come out this year. <3
I'm good with Sludge and atmospheric stuff, not always my main choice though it still is good. Almost all of the -core genres aren't really new to me and I've been listening to them for quite a long time, I've always found myself staying away from Melodic Metalcore nowadays, I used to like Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, Atreyu etc. but now I haven't been listening to any of them. I normally stick to Hardcore, Black, and Sludge/Doom territories though sometimes I find myself able to crossover to Prog land. I never did have a liking for Symphonic, Power, Folk, or Death, well there's a few exceptions for Death Metal, and Melodeath is alright, but that's about it. I also am surprisingly able to listen to Grindcore.

Here's some good stuff from GAZA, they're a pretty good band if you don't mind anti-Christian lyrics Pantera are Thrash Metal, so yeah they count
New Norma Jean album is coming out soon, I can't wait for it.
ASDFFFZGGAS- I forgot Christopher Lee!
What the goddamn? How did I not know Christopher Lee had a band? I've only ever heard his voice as part of Rhapsody. o.o
Eh, I'm the opposite, I prefer a lot of heavy, harder, and faster stuff, though I don't mind some relaxing stuff like Agalloch Also for those of you who are interested, I have my top 5 bands list done up, though I might end up constantly editing it for a while until I'm 100% satisfied with the list. It's in the OP just to let you guys know
I wasn't even aware of his part in Rhapsody until recently. I can't pick favorites, I like metal too much. Ok, I lied, Blind Guardian is number one, but other than them I can't choose. Not to mention I'm constantly adding to my library.
I don't think that Three Days Grace, Saliva, Skillet, and Sick Puppies count as Metal, I'm pretty sure that they count as Hard Rock. Though anyways, I've been listening to a lot of Rosetta recently so I'll just leave on of their songs here
I just noticed that I forgot about Drowning Pool and Rob Zombie when I was listing the Metal bands that I both like and listen to.
They're under nu metal and alternative metal, same as Linkin Park.
Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach, Metallica, Disturbed, Three Days Grace, and Avenged Sevenfold are the bands I listen to. Most of them will probably get me yelled at for not being "true metal" but I like them all and think they fit in close enough
