I think some of the "metal" bands I enjoyed wouldn't really be considered metal, like classic Metallica, Tenacious D, Mastodon, Iron Maiden, and Rammstein.

Also one song from Bethlehem, Schatten aus der Alexander Welt(I think that's what it's called). But not because it's hardcore but because it's so hilariously overdone, in my opinion.

So I take it that you're a big fan of DSBM stuff, I've heard a bit of Trist and they're good

Those are all Metal bands, I've listened to a bit of Rammstein, and I actually used to really be a huge fan of Mastodon.

    Meeeeeeeeeee.

Rhapsody is extra high on my list of favorites, along with pretty much anything Luca Turilli produces. Dark Moor and Fairyland are up there too. (Everyone should listen to Fairyland, especially Score to a New Beginning.)

And speaking of Enchanted Lands and Fairylands... how about some Dragonlands? :D

BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR IS SUPER HARDCORE. BEST METAL EVER. BLACK VEIL BRIDES ARE SOOOOO HARDCORE. HNNG.

So I'm gonna burn my keyboard. And my mouse. And myself. And my house.

(Seriously, Justin Beiber's SOOO much hardcore-er than either of these two combined.)

Depressive Black Metal is my personal favorite type of BM as well. Doom Metal is something that I like quite a bit too, though I haven't listened to much of it, so far my personal favorites in Doom Metal are Electric Wizard, Sunn O))), Boris, and Sleep.

The only doom metal I've taken a liking to is While Heaven Wept, and even then it's really just Vast Oceans Lachrymose. It had that prog fusion I like so much. :(

I've heard of Sunn O))) though, and want to give them a listen one day. Mostly because of their name.

    I lol'd.

I wouldn't recommend them for someone who is only starting to get into Doom Metal, they're kind of an acquired taste. Try out Boris' earlier works, it's in the same style as Sunn O))) but easier to get into.

Candlemass aren't that bad, not one of my preferred bands, though still a good one.

All this Doom Metal is making me hungry for some Sludge to go along with it
