I only just got this game, bought a fishing rod, and the first thing i do is catch 2 Dorado's in a row. (15.000 Bells each!) :Trollestia: How do you like dem apples? (Well, oranges in my case)
Well for me the appeal starts rooted deep in my childhood, since the GCN Animal Crossing was one of the first games I got on that system. I probably spent more time playing that game then I did my actual childhood life xD. The appeal is of a smaller, more specific crowd I would think. It's just really relaxing and fun to build your little house up and roam around doing things. It's quite a simplistic game in design, but for some reason I just never get bored of it.
It's just plain addictive once you get into it. The basic gist of the game is you buy a house, and then some crooked raccoon offers to make your house even bigger every time you pay off the last renovations he offered. In other words, you'll always need to keep earning money. Either by fishing, catching bugs, digging up fossils, etc. Despite the fact that you're doing the same things all day long it never gets old.
DONOTBADMOUTHTHISFRANCHISEDON'TYOUDARE! Kidding, I only played the original. It just looks so adorably addictive. I suppose that's my childish side emerging and also my love of open world games. But alas, no 3DS or DS of any kind.... My first world problems are ENDLESS.
Tom Nook and Redd are the most lowlife businessmen I've ever seen.... I have the game and I'm desperately trying to open the salon! I don't have brown hair! >.<
I wish they'd just have a character creation menu at the start of the game so you don't have to keep restarting until you get a character you like... At least you can pick the location of your house this time.
But you don't have access to the island from the very beginning, so getting a lucky 30.000 right from the start is a nice surprise.
But you can get it day one, just use time travel. Unless you have turnips, but the stalk market sucks so I don't waste my time with it.
Yeah, legit is an issue. I want sharks, sharks spawn best between 7-11 pm. I'm never awake at that time. I've only caught one shark, the other 5 I've seen have got away cause I'm incompetent. Get tons of golden stags though.
It was a suggestion. I'm not making anyone travel through time. Though if I could I'd imagine life would be infinitely more fun.
For the next Animal Crossing game they should introduce Resetti's brother, Tim Travelli. Who pops up being an annoying sod after you mess around with the time and date settings on your DS.
So I just want to say that of all my villagers, Bree is the best. I know there is a deer in the game, they better show up. Then I may change my mind.
I've currently finished the Cafe and I have managed to get 100% satisfaction in the village meaning town hall can be refurbished. So I'm one step closer to completely redecorating town with the modern style of buildings. Finally Sprinkle is best Villager:
