Generally, the songs from the show I wouldn't define as dubstep alone. That's where all the creative bronies come in ^^ I love listening to dubstep remixes of the songs from the show. I never thought a saxophone could sound so good (brohoof /) if you know what remix I'm talking about ^^)

I love dubstep for the wubs and the bass drops. I love the songs from the show because "D'awwww". The two combined is like a whole new kind of awesome that surpasses the sonic rainboom. Plus every time I hear a remix I picture Vinyl scratch secretly recording the songs when the ponies sing them and then taking them home to make remixes lol.

I don't really like techno because it (to steal a good line from a Octav3 fanfic) sounds like two machines having intimate relations. Dubstep isn't about all the machine noises. You can take just about anything and make it dubstep by adding a few wubs, a decent bass drop, and a few extra instruments.

Basically, dubsteps cool and the remixes are even cooler ^^

I find dubstep to be very obnoxious tbh. But I guess I'm not forced to listen to it all that often, so I can't really complain.

It's all dependent on The style of dubstep. There are varying degrees of it to me. You can have Dubstep that is more melodic and vocal ( a-la General Mumble's Perfect ) then you have full on wubs ( a-la Living tombstone "Dubstep Dishwasher" )

Personally, I am a Speedcore freak. I drive out of work everyday Blaring Renards " Rainbow Dash Likes Girls (Stay Gay Pony Girl)"

    ....but that's This Pony's Opinion ::S:

I'm not a fan of electronica in general, though I can appreciate certain ambient subgenres. I positively cannot stand anything that's dance beat...basically, if it sounds like it'd be right at home "in da club", I want nothing to do with it.

That said, I think there're way, way too many dubstep and house artists in this fandom (not to mention way too few good metal artists) but that's only to be expected, I guess; if dubstep is wildly popular outside the fandom, it'd stand to reason that it'd be just as popular within. I'm certain that some of the variety I'd like to hear in brony music does exist, but it's so deeply buried under all the electronica that it doesn't get a fraction of the recognition it deserves.

But hey, people like what they like, and I won't fault 'em for that. Personally, I'm just thrilled that our fandom contains so darn much in the way of fan music; every fandom has a slough fan art and fics behind it, but as far as I know, the MLP fandom is the only one that's got a crap ton of fan music in addition.

there needs to be better dubstep in the fandom, i mean old school dubstep when it used to have a more chill sound back when it was in the uk underground, id rather see more dubstep artists take on a more burial or skream based style. rather than the newer wave of dubstep artists that are called "brostep", honestly to me brostep is just plain generic and annoying.

I'm with @Lowline Thrash on this. I think dubstep's place is in the club and that's it. I'll just stick with listening to metal.

BTW, dude, I've actually written an Iron Maiden style song about MLP!

That sounds like it'd be pretty sick, man. I definitely want to hear it when you get around to recording it (if you haven't already).

I think its silly to think of having MLP-anything as a genre, as such. I might just be missing something, but for me, I don't care about lyrical content/themes in music I listen to, as long as I enjoy listening to it.

I feel like MLP dubstep is like MLP fanfictions.

Lots of people think it's all bad because there are so many amateurs who try their hand at it. There is some good stuff out there, but in general, it is bad. Most of them have very repetitive beats, I have heard songs that are literally looping the same 10-second long track for 2 minutes. More commonly they will loop something like 4 5-second long tracks for 30 seconds each or something. It isn't creative, it isn't nice to listen to, and all of them sound the saaaaame.

But like I said, there IS good stuff out there. There's just way more bad stuff.

It doesn't help that I don't like dubstep much to begin with. :p I prefer orchestral, classic rock style or metal. Or basically anything that's not rap or dubstep.

for those of you who go on about how dubstep is "bad and annoying" i encourage you to listen to this and try to re-evaluate your opinions on dubstep, we need more old school dubstep and post-dubstep in the world.
