If you play any instrument, sing, or song write this is the thread for you! I play the valve trombone, baritone horn, and a little piano (and a tiny, winy bit of flute). I am really into playing jazz, latin, and sometime rock. My favourite piece would have to be Count Bubba, it has a sick trombone soli!
I'm a bassist and songwriter for a thrash/power/prog metal band that's trying to get off the ground. Aside from bass, I can play rhythm guitar, and aside from metal, I like to write video gamey stuff as well as the occasional orchestral arrangement. I've been tasked with writing the score for an MLP RPG being planned by a friend of mine (as well, I've volunteered to contribute music to Eight Star's RPG here), so I'm hoping that such collaborative undertakings will prompt experimentation and overall development from me as a composer. My favorite metal bands are Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Testament, Destruction, Sodom, Kreator and Iced Earth. There are many, many more that I like, but those are my biggest metal influences. My favorite classical composer is Tchaikovsky, and my favorite video game music composer is Koichi Sugiyama of Dragon Warrior fame.
I've played drums for 5 years, guitar and bass for 2. Then there's flute and keyboard for one. I also sing (badly). I can enjoy a bit of metal once and awhile. Would Skillet be considered metal or rock? - - Auto Merge - - What exactly is a viola? I've heard of it, but don't know what it is.
They're basically just slightly larger violins with a slightly lower range (a perfect fifth lower than violins, if I'm not mistaken).
I play electric/acoustic/bass guitar, Piano/keyboard, Violin, Bell/marimba/xylophone/glockenspiel and of course anything that I can utilize on a computer =)
Band story of the day. Today, the high band of my school had to go play at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony in town square, as they do every year, so I brought home the school's marching baritone horn in order to bring it later. Of course, it had to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. So I got there, greeted some of my friends, and one of my friends came up to me in shock and said that his trombone slide was stuck. Sure enough, the cold and breath combination had frozen his slide to the tubing inside. Of course, that can't happen to my baritone's valves... My band teacher counted us off to start playing the first song, and I pressed down the first valve, and sure enough, it was stuck halfway down the valve. For 2 whole songs, it was stuck there, and I was unable to play. Thankfully, it started to move, albeit rather slowly. I was only able to play half of the notes in the rest of the two songs. Oh yeah, and the band sounded pitiful. Moral of the story: Avoid playing in the cold, and if you have to, please keep your instrument warm.
Electronic artist and Gutarist. I like to do alot of different genres but my favorite have to be Hardcore/Punk, Orchestral Variants, Trance, and Industrial. I have a Bandcamp and a Soundcloud
