Nub. Normal/casual ftw. My friend told me he did that, restarting whenever a unit died. I told him to just play casual, and he gave me a funny look.
Playing on casual makes you more reckless. You end up playing the game in a completely different way.
I've found that when playing on Hard, even if you continue a chapter after losing a unit, you put yourself in a position where the AI can almost certainly kill more units. So if any one unit dies you're better off restarting the chapter right away and saving yourself the frustration of watching more die. I reckon this is even more true for difficulties harder than hard. Of course, like most things, once your units reach a certain level, difficulty and casual/classic modes won't matter much anymore. Unless you make the most hardcore tactical blunders possible, your units will be fine, lol. It's just a matter of how long that will take.
Unless you make a team of vengeance+vantage+wrath Sorcerors with Nosferatu or Aversa's Night tomes. That's pretty much idiot proof, save for one thing. *Glares at Lethality*
Speaking of sorcerers, anyone else think it was ironic how dark knights and dark fliers couldn't use dark magic? Sure it makes sorcerers more special, but the naming had me fooled.
I finally understood why the sorcerers got bathing suits in the fan service DLC. 'Cuz dey gots robez, yo.
"What's this? What did I just step on...?" *You found a Rift Door* Lon'qu, what are you doing. What did I tell you about stumbling into alternate dimensions.
Har! Time to revive this thread. I'd like to point out how badass Frederick is here for a sec. You know, I mean, it's not like I'm just jumping on the 'Ooooo he's so sexy, Best Jeigan ever' bandwagon, I mean, he's legitimately a good character. He's got good beliefs, lives up to his title of Frederick the Wary, and overall is just... awesome. He's also an amazing unit if you give him some good training. I must say that this game is just a pure masterpiece. There are so many different ways to play it, experience it, get frustrated with it, and so much more. I'm currently on Chapter 8 of my Lunatic+ playthrough, and by god it's tough even with a little Outrealm grinding. I highly recommend this game to any fans of the genre, as well as any fans of strategy RPGs. This game is just... Yes. Please. Pick a God and Pray... and remember that it's always Gregor time.
I admire your gutsy ness for playing on Lunatic+. I couldn't imagine losing mah waifu Lucina, or my good buddy Henry to one of those over-powered monstrosities of CPUs.
Such a thing is impossible on Lunatic+. You'd literally have to simply get unfathomably lucky to survive the first few chapters without having to reset. The enemies are simply that much stronger than you.
The odds of there being only one Luna+ enemy in Chapter 2 is literally less than 10%. If that Luna+ enemy just happens to be the Hammer Warrior, you're boned, and may as well reset. Basically? If the Hammer Warrior has Hawkeye AND Luna+, just reset. You have no chance.
