Ok guys. I need your support on this one, because this could be the dumbest idea for a fanfic ever. For months now, I've thought about making my first fanfic. In this fanfic, the essence of Nightmare Moon would possess Trixie. So in a way, Nightmare Moon would return, but this time, she would be much stronger. The six Elements of Harmony alone won't be enough to beat her this time. So, I was thinking that there would be a secret 7th elements of harmony, with that Element being Spike. Now hear me out on this. As you recall from the pilot, the six ponies had to do some trials set up by NMM to reach the Elements of Harmony. This would be similar for Spike. Except, he goes after the 7th element on his own. I haven't decided whether he would actually fight or now, but I HAVE decided that I want him to be the Element of Courage. His element would be either a shape of a green flame or a scroll. I'm still roughing out the edges on this idea, but do you guys think a fanfic like this could actually work?

Interesting you and I both are thinking about adding a Seventh element of Harmony to the genre, in more detail what will spikes element be???
All I can tell you for now is that he would be the Element of Courage as he will overcome a lot of his fears in different ways on this journey. Sometimes he'll have to fight, sometimes he won't.
Yeah I thought about doing courage too, but it turned out that I had based the main character off of my self more or less so I went with a different element one that makes more sense to me.
Yes Sims do it. I think Spike would make an excellent element of courage. Spike needs more attention.
The element I went with is Honor, because honor is about how others see you not how you see yourself and alot of my friends do look up to me at important times so... it just felt right to put it in it seems I dont know more complete somehow.
Interesting concept. I was thinking that the Elements would try to fight Nightmare Moon, but would be outmatched when she creates dark versions of themselves. So Spike would come to the rescue and defeat the dark Elements. I haven't decided yet, but I've thought about giving Spike either a sword or a lance. Mainly so he would have a quality that would stick out from the other elements. Actually i could never write something like this. Mainly since I've never written a story before.
They dont call it trial and error for nothing it took me like three completely different rough drafts to get my 33 pager where it is now!!! and that's reading it completely through and revising it. I find it helps to listen to music while writing focus's your thinking to a degree. Yeah honor comes up a lot in my story, if you read my side story to my main one called Honor and Sacrifice you will see how it works out in some areas.
That's understandable. As am I. I just dream one day somepony will like my vision of what Spike can be.
It is a really nifty spin off and i like it, mines a sort of spin off of Equestria being all peace and no major war, so I decided to do something bout that... hehehe
That should be fun. I've also had ideas of a fanfic where Spike tries to find the origins of his family.
oooooo.... now that sounds like a great story waiting to be written right there I should have the first main part of my story, or at least a deviation of it up at some point not too soon here I hope you and the others enjoy it!!! the names might be a bit off, but hey the ponies I am writing about that turn up in Equestria are from neighboring countries. So it should make some sense though I think I worked out the whole weapon system, forgot to mention I do have bipedal wolf characters in this story and they happen to be fighting with Rashall not against him.
It would basically work like this. All of the Mane Six would go away for the full day to hang out with their families while Spike stays behind. Spike would then head to Canterlot and start doing some research about the whereabouts of his family and kind. After hours of research, Spike would get absolutely nowhere until Celestia comes in to tell him the truth about his parents and how they're whereabouts are unknown seeing as they found his egg all alone in a cave just outside of Canterlot. I'll post more about it if you want.
Neat, I like this idea Sims. I really think you should write it. You have changed my thoughts on spike. I had to re work my fan fic a little to get more spike.
Do as Twilight would do, research. If anybody should write a Spike fanfic based around him, it should be you Sims. I know you've read a few fics, that is some research. Plus if you wanted or needed any help, I'd be willing to do so.
