I've not seen too many people here seem too enthralled by the happenings of a bunch of people who play video games where you punch one-another, but I'm sure someone here has to =P. If you are a part of the community then what fighting games do you play? What are your favorite characters from those games? In general, let's discuss all things FGC-related. I play Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, mostly, at least until Ultra comes along. My mains are Dee Jay and Zangief, as I really like less popular characters =P. But I also play BlazBlue, where I play Hakumen, and Skull Girls, where I play Filia and Valentine. Discuss, if you are so inclined =P

You... you like fighting games too...? Oh my gods... I play UMvC3, SFIV, and some P4A. I main Phoenix Wright, Frank West, and Vergil in UMvC3. I main Dan and sub Yang in SFIV. I main Kanji in P4A. I'm so glad there's someone else here who shares my FGC interests ; w;
I play some of those game that you mentioned every now and then but my bread and butter is Street Fighter IV, Skull Girls, and BlazBlue. To be fair I've played all of those games you mentioned, but I do not play all of them regularly. Though if I were to play MK I'd be Sub Zero or Katana. Yes indeedy! I love the FGC and I try to be as active in it as I can. When I go to my friends house (he has superior internet connection) I like to make endless match rooms in Street Fighter IV and play with friends. We should definitely do that some time =P In UMvC3 I would probably choose Phoenix as well just because he is lower-tier.
I never really play fighting games much, mainly because my main tactic is button mashing, but there are few I enjoy. I mainly play UMvC3, MK (4, Deadly Alliance, Armageddon, and 2011), Soul Caliber V, and Deadliest Warrior (A cheap little fighting game from the show). I played Street Fighter II and IV on the PS3, but I wasn't really wowed on amazed and generally did not enjoy it. I played Skullgirls over a free weekend on Steam and really enjoyed though so I'm planning on getting that. I main Phoenix Wright, Deadpool, and Dante for UMvC3; Stryker on MK, Ezio and Rapheal on SCV, and Vlad the Impaler on Deadliest Warrior (Although Joan of Arc's AI is psychotic.)

And I'm kind of jealous lol because I would love to have a fighting game/pony avatar or sig XD But anyways, if you guys are interested, me and a friend did a first to five for this game. That was a really good play in my opinion lol. - - Auto Merge - - Oh, and also, what are your guys' strengths and weaknesses? For me, my strength is my defense. I don't want to brag but I do have a pretty decent defense. I'm also pretty decent at adapting to people, but I'm not the best. Where I fail is execution, and that is because I don't own the game myself, I have to go to a friend's house to play it. So I end up not being able to practice combos that well. =P And I think I'm good at mix-up as well. I always am using mix-up because it's fun to trick people and basically make them do what you want them to do. With Dee Jay, I'm pretty good at zoning, but not with other characters.
Here are a few pointers... 1. Don't jump in too much, especially as Dee Jay. Unless he scores a knockdown (Easiest hard knockdown combo he has is Cr LP Cr LP St LP Cr Mk) he's extremely vulnerable to punishes and baits. 2. Don't do Heavy Punch too liberally. If you're looking to do decent damage and throw your opponent off guard a lot, do St MK from a distance. It's his best poking tool and stuffs fireballs a lot. 3. Work on your execution. That's about it! You've got the makings of a good player for sure, you just make some tiny rookie mistakes. Then again, you yourself said you'd get bodied, so. xP I'm more than willing to help you out if you want. Respect for using the third worst character in the game! Low tier FGC unite.
Thanks for the tips! Yeah I love playing as low tier characters for some reason. I mean playing as Ryu can be fun sometimes but I like knowing that I just kicked Dhalsim's flank with Zangief =P My friend told me to stop jumping in as well too, so I now know that I probably shouldn't but I thought Dee Jay was supposed to be jumping in a lot? Maybe not as much as I do though, but anyways my reasoning is because he doesn't have any over-heads on the ground (right?) so the only way to really pressure your opponent is with jumping. Again, I'm no expert at the game but I am trying to get better =P Oh and slightly on a tangent but I perfected a C+ Zangief as Dee Jay online the other week at my friend's house, and I ended up winning the second round as well but not nearly in the same manner =P. Dee Jay's zoning is really scary if you're good at it! XD
Most of Dee Jay's options are on the ground, but he has one or two great air normals. Jacknife Maximum is his go-to anti-air tool. Only misses people who are on the ground and crouching.
I got to thinking today and I am no longer going to limit myself to five male and five female characters on any of the fighting games I play whether it's a regular/ normal fighting game, a superhero fighting game or Anime fighting game, the only characters I will not play as are the characters I do not like so when it comes to Mortal Kombat 9 I will not play as Johnny Cage, Kano, Rain, or Sheeva. When it comes to both Dead or Alive 5 and Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate I will not play as the Virtua Fighter guest characters. When it comes to Blazblue Continuum Shift Extended I will not play as Carl Clover or Arakune. When it comes to both Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Tekken Revolution I will not play as Lee Chaolon, Lei Wulong, Mokujin, Baek Doo San, and Miguel Cabarello Rojo. When it comes to Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition I will not play as Crimson Viper, Rufus, Vega, Adon and Cody however when it comes to Street Fighter X Tekken I will not play as Rufus, Vega or Cody. When it comes to Soul Calibur 4 I will not play as Yun Seoung, Raphael, Ivy Valentine and Voldo however when it comes to Soul Calibur 5 the only charactesr I will not play as is Raphael and Ivy. When it comes to Injustice Gods Among Us there is really no character that I do not like so I shall play as everyone. When it comes to Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 the only character I will not play as is Crimson Viper. When it comes to Dragon Ball Raging Blast 2 and Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi I will not play as Cell Jr., Cui, Dodoria, Guldo, Recoome, Saibamen and Zarbon however when it comes to Battle of Z which may or may not be a fighting game honestly i'm not really sure I will not play as Cell Jr., Frieza Soldier, Guldo, Recoome or Saibamen. When it comes to Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 I will not play as Kabuto Yakushi (normal), Shino Aburanme and Ten Ten however when it comes to Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 I will not play as Danzo Shimura, Kabuto Yakushi (normal), Shino Aburanme and Ten Ten.
I like the occasional fighting game, but I'm a more casual player and not active in any community. My biggest thing in that regard was releasing a character for Mugen, but that's about it.

At first I was upset that it was a Cammy clone, then I realized that she's gonna play more like Juni from Alpha 3. Now I'm really excited for her. I just hope they change her idle pose and normals a bit.
Yeah they said she definitely needs work at the moment. They're about 85 percent done =P She has way to many easy super damaging set-ups so they're trying to limit that a bit. I like the way she looks though. Instant cross-ups? Quick Uppercuts? Mix-up? Decapre's going to make an interesting character!
