love every minute of Citadel DLC! No one throws house party like Shepard! leviathan was good too, finally got some answers I was looking for. Slowly creeping up on the end so I'll be able to see the happy end mod in action!
They're the two kinds of character you can be, based on your decisions. Paragon is the good guy, who usually uses diplomacy and persuasion to get things done, and Renegade is the jerk. He punches and shoots things to get things done. Generally speaking.
I love that ME is one of those few games that actually makes you feel bad for doing something wrong or acting like a total dick. I cant afford DLC *Sad face*
Okay, cool. I've heard some cool things about Female Shepard's voice actress, so I think that'll be what I go for.
To me, choosing between male and fem Shep is the same as choosing between cedar and oak. Either way, you're getting wood.

Save Early, Save Often! And max out those paragon/renegade points! No bonus for being neutral(unfortunately)
Just to warn you. Your actions on Virmire will cause you to be judged by the entire fandom. You must either join the Alenko's or the Ashleys.
Good tips! I've been noticing that, as I run through, saving often helps out a ton. Hmmm... I read up on the choice just now, and from what I've experienced so far... Spoiler Ashley's awesome and everything (I mean, she's been super helpful in all the fights), but she's also kind of a racist against the aliens. That bothers me. Kaiden seems kind of wooden and generic as a character, so I don't really like him, but he doesn't offend me, either. I feel bad for both of them because they both lost people they care about. Although, Ashley's dialogue was what helped get me through some of the early scenes with the council. She was funny then, so I guess maybe I do like her a little bit. It's going to be a hard choice either way. I guess I'll probably just pick whatever feels the most natural in the moment.
I chose to save who ever I was banging on my run throughs, if I was banging Liara though it was 50/50 who I would save. you will run through the whole thing again so don't worry too much. But also DONT DO VIRMIRE TILL YOU HAVE EXTREMELY HIGH RENEGADE OR PARAGON! I lost 2hrs of game time doing Virmire too soon and don't want to see that mistake repeated!
Everybody's so helpful! I started Mass Effect 2... Spoiler: PLOT SPOILERS! In Mass Effect, I spared Wrex and sacrificed Kaiden to escape Virmire. It seemed logical at the time, though I must admit I liked Kaiden more than Ashley. I then proceeded to follow the Paragon path, romance with Liara (I'm playing as a female soldier Shepard) and save the council from Sovereign. In Mass Effect 2, I've met up with Garrus and Kasumi, and I'm looking for the salarian doctor. I met the krogan doctor, who killed himself and left me with his krogan experiment. Honestly, I really just want to find Liara and Wrex, my two favorite characters from the last game. I like Garrus, too, so I'm glad he's with me.
Well you wont find them until later in the game both as NPC's but you get Liara for a bit in the lair of the shadow broker DLC. You will find Liara in an office on Illium and you have to talk to her about thane and Samara's location. You will find Wrex on Tuchanka which you unlock when you get Grunt's and Mordins loyalty missions. Also Thane is best new companion.
I see... do I get to team up with them in Mass Effect 3 at all? Not asking if they're in the game, but are they possible squadmates?
Liara is an squad mate you receive at almost the beginning of the game, and Wrex can be a squad mate in the Citadel DLC.
