Let's not forget about Nintendo's decision to show up in a go-cart...

And they put a fat italian plumber behind the wheel instead of an actual professional driver.

I took a small gamble with Sony and it's paying off well. Microsoft really need to focus their market on a specific audience rather than trying to get everyone. Sony's got the core gamer in their pocket. Nintendo's got it's truly hardcore fan base and has the benefit of being the cheapest of the Big three. Microsoft's got the TV guy? Seriously, who the heck watches subscription TV anymore when there's Netflix, Catch-Up and Online Media.
My friend was the biggest Microsoft flag waver until last week when out of the blue, he sold his Xbone. I asked why and he had the biggest rant on the Performance, the software and generally thought the grass was greener on the PS4. Coming from him, this was unexpected because the only reason I was gonna get an Xbone was to play with my friends, but now that they're all switching, I think I'll pass.

I've had this idea for a video that I was going to make after E3 last year. I guess you guys have just inspired me to finish that project. Thanks.

    Also, all hail Sony !!!

Not surprising and I don't see the trend changing anytime soon unless Nintendo or Microsoft pulls out a basket full of golden eggs.

In a slightly video game related topic, I was finally able to play around with a Wii U that a friend owns and can say I will most likely not be owning one.
It's like a 3DS Quadruple Large with a lack luster library of games.
Additionally, I'm happy we haven't ditched our PS3 for a PS4 yet since Persona 5 was announced as an exclusive.

    That would have been silly.

I second this notion; despite all the talk of next-gen nonsense, PC is the platform that performs best. And has the fewest quirks and catch-22s involved.

I understand the appeal of Consoles, But that is slowly dwindling. COnsoles used to be the go-to when you wanted a portable varient for your gaming. Something that wasn't riddled with cost and payments. Something military personnel could enjoy and use to cope with the truama of war and not have to worry about it needing internet.

Nowadays they seem to be only drm-strapped PCs. My only knowledge of an actual consloe in the next gen is the WiiU. the WiiU (Regardsless of what hatred you have for it) It is infact the only "Console" in existance. The fact you can install a 1TB hardrive into the X1 as easy as a PC is an example (Source) and Sony's AMD partnership and wanting more f2p mmo ports for ps4 is another. Not only that but Consoles are meant to be in the living room and be a multiperson event like a board game or a gard game. Sony and Microsoft have taken a stance on what the X1 and PS4 will be. And "Competitve Cosole" something that brings in a more "dedicated" income for them. That means eSports, online games, CoD-esque Multiplayer game with singleplayer "Add-ons". Although I love eSports and have participated in the Blacklight Championship League (And Oversaw the last one) I understand the dram to them. But consoles are become more and more like "Training wheels" to PC gaming.

I don't entirely agree; the mainstream consoles seem to follow the trend, but some of the more obscure ones fair a bit better in that sense, especially the Android powered ones. Handhelds (if quantified as consoles) also serve as an example to the contrary as they do fit into a niche that PC cannot fully fill.

Keep in mind that there are games that the PC cannot play due to exclusivity.

I'd own an XBox One just for Killer Instinct. I can't get it on PC.

I'm a relative newbie to PC Gaming, however over the last year I've been collecting parts and now that it's finally up and running, It's specs could last me till the the end of this generation. However despite all the positives to PC's, I've just grown up with consoles and feel they'll always be the best place to play, Mainly because of the simplicity of a console and the fact that it's primary objective is to play games.

That's not a limitation of PC gaming though, that's simply a business decision on the part of the developers.

I'm just sat here, not really caring. I have little interest in the console exclusives on either one any more, and Exclusives are the only reason I'd ever have to buy one. I know I'd be more likely to get a PS3 than an XBone though. Otherwise, my PC and previous gen consoles will do me fine.
I'm considering perhaps buying a Wii U though. Still really need a 3DS, too.

As I said in my previous statement, the WiiU seems to be the only Home Console still in existance. Andriod to me is debateable if it is considered a gaming console, it can do far more then just game (It's a mobile phone OS) Ingress has shown that andriod is a great way to host games, but that's like saying PCs are Gaming Devices if they Windows. In regards to handhelds, Nintendo always has a frim hold in the Handheld market and with good reason, but i consider handheldds (and even tablets) to be in a different tier then pcs and consoles soley because it wouldn't be fair since they are vastly different.

    Devs or CEOs?
And the solution is is easy to see, if no one buys consoles then bankruptcy or caving in are the only options. Though arranging mass boycotts and following through isn't exactly the easiest thing as we've seen with the Mass Effect 3, Dead Space 3, CoD, and any other recent internet boycotts from these past years.

When I said developers I was referring to companies as a whole.

I think the Wii U will be Nintendo's last home console.
