Has anyone played this game? DayZ standalone? I keep seeing it pop up across the interwebz, so I watched a few gameplay videos and it seems really cool. Just wondering if nyone has had a chance to play it yet, and if you have, what did you think?
I have the mod and SA. I currently prefer mod but SA is going to be great game. Right now it's in really early phase (I think you already know that) but yeah great game and becomes greater with every update. Right now there is not much to do than loot and shoot or interact with other players, but they're making some kind of fortifying system and vehicles. when these updates come there is much more to do in SA. I really like it and recommend it if you like zombie survival games. and still saying that it's still in development so there will be bugs and glitches. don't buy it if you prefer finished product

I know it's still in alpha, still looks way cool. And most of the glitches I've seen have hilarious results. xD That pretty much jives with what I've seen so far haha. But I've also seen some pretty cool players and other players that push the limits of creativity with the game, and that's pretty cool too. I like the idea of people being put in a sandbox, able to talk and react with each other, and just seeing what they'll do. A lot of times they'll prolly just end up shooting on sight, but there's always a couple people that try to go beyond that. I'm also curious about the question: What would I end up doing?
Well you are right there that most of the players just are douches, and the old saying about dying a hero or live long enough to become bandit still stays. But in a zombie apocalypse (at least I think) most of the people wouldn't trust others than their own group, but yeah this is a game. and it kinda requires bandits who do anything just for fun or for that can of beans. About the zombie survival the zombie part would stand out more if there would be more zombies spawning, like in ARMA III mod. But still I think SA is a zombie survival game, and since it's a game dying really doesn't matter and it's quite easy to gear up again. I think they should make dying more meaningful, something like if you die you get/ don't get something when you spawn back. Still cool game and going to be way cooler when it's complete
Well, I'm about to play me some DayZ. I'm not as hyped about Dark Souls 2 as I was, I think mostly because I was expecting it to be Dark Souls v.2 and it ended up not really fitting my expectations of it. Now I'm all hyped up about DayZ and I don't really just wanna go through DkSII just to get it over with so I can play something else, so I'm putting it down for a bit. Which, is exactly what I did with the first Dark Souls, and when I came back to it I ended up loving it to death lol. Right now I'm in the process of d/l'ing Steam and getting my laptop game-ready. I've never actually used it to play games before, even though it's a gaming laptop lol. Had to go out and buy a mouse and headset and all that good stuff. So ya, looks like I'll be on DayZ for awhile. If anyone wants to hang out and go kill some zombies (ahem....people) together, let me know.
Haha, hark who's talking, you were playing Capcom yesterday (btw, now I'm lvl 70 and just defeated the Lost Sinner) I'll be back on DkSII before long, DayZ is a sandbox and I tend to get bored with sandbox games really quickly. I think I got bored with minecraft after like... two weeks lol. OHH, I can play minecraft now that I have a mouse! Totally forgot I even had minecraft lol. - - Auto Merge - - Alrighty, well so far my first few ours in DayZ have been...boring. Not sure if it's just the server I logged into or what but, I haven't seen a single other person (save for zombies, and they aren't very good travelling companions), everything and I mean everything has been looted and since I can't so much as find a spork to defend myself with, zombies have made a tasty snack out of me on more than one occasion. I'll have to try again tomorrow, but right now I'm a bit...underwhelmed with this game so far. *EDIT: Well, apparently there's a reason for why this game sucks. Because nobody actually plays DayZ:SA, everyone still plays the mod. And the devs are seriously dragging their asses about actually developing the game. Soo... I just wasted a bunch of time and money for a game I might get to properly enjoy in like a year. Maybe. <.< Whelp, looks like I'm going back to Dark Souls 2.
Join a 50 player serve go to Elektro or Cherno Half the server is there and a lot of bandits have fun!
