I am now at the point in Mass Effect 2 (trying to keep this entirely spoiler-free) where I am mining planets and investigating anomalies before completing the final mission. I've gotten all the characters and their loyalty (with the exception of Thane, because I got distracted during his mission and yeah :/ ), so the next step is to beat the game after discovering all I can!

    I liked it, too.

That freaked me out for a second when I heard it.

You didn't keep doing anomalies after the abduction, did you? It's a bad idea to do anything other than go directly to the final mission immediately following the part with Joker. Otherwise people die.

As for Thane, hmm...Don't assign him any important roles for the final mission, and don't bring him with you to the final battle.

I highly recommend creating a separate save before doing the final mission, because there's SO MUCH that could go wrong.

OH MY GOSH no way!!!! That's exactly what I've been doing! D:

Well, everybody's going to die. For sure. I completed soooo many missions during that time slot.

I would create an alternate save, but then again I kind of want to just keep whatever I get this time around. I do my "perfect" playthrough the second time.

    LET'S DO THIS!

Also a quick question did you get all the ship upgrades (one each from Thane, Garrus, Tali and Jacob)

I've managed to get a perfect on the Suicide Mission on my first try. I still have no idea how I did it....

What you wish to do is to essentially ensure that, and I quote from one of my friends, "EVERYTHING IMPORTANT" (All loyalty missions is absolutely needed, along with ship upgrades) has been completed first before taking the Omega-4 mass relay. Trust me, this is a literal lifesaver when you do the mission.

I'm not sane enough to try Insanity yet, but when I do, I'm doing it for all 3 games.

    I got all the upgrades.

That ending was crazy. Now onto Mass Effect 3...

Remember this... Multiplayer play it a lot so each area is 100% otherwise the war assets you obtained are weaker. leading to less points that go towards if can obtain synthesis and in the final mission Sword and Hammer will either begin taking heavy losses quickly or be able to hold their own until the end of the mission. The survival and continued defense of Sword and Hammer are pivotal to the success of the final mission. In the final mission all gathered War Assets combine into three different groups, codenamed Sword, Shield and Hammer. Sword and Shield consist of all allied fleets and starships, and Hammer consists of all ground forces. When Sword attacks the Reaper fleet above Earth, it acts as a distraction to allow Hammer to land on Earth and engage the Reapers on the ground to aid Admiral Anderson's resistance forces. Meanwhile, Shield is held in reserve to escort the Crucible into position to dock with the Citadel.

Depending on the number of War Assets gathered and their combined military effectiveness rating, Sword and Hammer will either begin taking heavy losses quickly or be able to hold their own until the end of the mission. The survival and continued defense of Sword and Hammer are pivotal to the success of the final mission. For example, high EMS results in enough suppressive fire for the Normandy to quickly land and extract squad members to safety, as well as allowing the Crucible to dock with little to no damage taken.

Aside from the multiplayer, which I've never played, download the Extended Cut DLC (It's free). That gives you more fleshed out endings and significantly lowers the required Effective Military Strength. I easily maxed it out without playing a single multiplayer match.

    I'll do that!

I have no idea what Sword, Shield and Hammer are, but I will remember this and most definitely play the multiplayer.
