I might be the only one who likes the anime games, but let me try to explain this game. J-Stars Victory Vs(+ for the international release) is a crossover anime(but it's really Shonen Jump Manga) fighting game. Including such big hitters like Goku from DBZ, Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece, Naruto from Naruto, along with legacy characters like Yusuke Urameshi from Yu Yu Hakusho, Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star, Jonathan Joestar from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, and Kenshin Himura from Rurouni Kenshin, and new(at least to US audiences) characters like Toriko from Toriko, Gon from HunterXHunter, among others. The Japanese version contained 39 playable characters, both heroes and villains and 13 support characters. Here is a Japanese Trailer with english subs. Thanks to Youtube user TheGameTagerZ for uploading it. The game actually plays fun as it's a 3D Brawler Fighter(I own the Japanese version), IMHO, and is fun. It reminds me of Bushido Blade and Power Stone and other games like it. It's going to be in English subs, no dubs, and I'm not sure if it'll have any new characters for the + version. They did say that there will be an arcade mode and a more balanced game, so there's that. Here's the wikipedia on the game, for more info, it releases June 30th for the US, June 26th for you EU people. It'll also be on PS3/PS4/PSVita. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J-Stars_Victory_VS
I've heard of this series. It's pretty much the anime/manga version of Smash Bros. It's interested me greatly. Sadly... I'll never be able to play it. Because I'd want to play a localized version and that will pretty much never happen. So... yeah...
You are in luck, sir, US and EU versions are forthcoming. June 26th for EU, June 30th for US. It'll be sub not dub, though.
I think the main issue with dubbing it in english is because a lot of these characters don't have any english dub to their animes anyway. Truthfully, I'm just happy it's going worldwide. Yeah, it would be nice to have dubs, but considering Namco Bandai would've taken probably around another 6 months to get all that done, I can understand why they didn't.
I guess. But it kind of makes me reluctant to get it and just continue to avoid this series until one is finally dubbed in english.
