I google'd FTP client and came up with these: Free! Looks WAY confusing What....I guess this assmues you aren't Amish.... This one LOOKS friendly.... Anyone know what the heck these are!?! Are they any good? Did I pick a bunch of shady sites/ are these trustworthy? Could someone with technology stuffs check these out and see what our best bet is?
I can play the Flute quite well. But, similar to Luprony, I don't have anything to record or send MIDI files or anything. /broke I can also sing, but I don't know if you guys want a semi-high-pitched guy singing in there.
I play clarinet and guitar, but I don't know how to record or do anything like that... Besides, my clarinet was stolen last year and my skills on my guitar (classical) are negligible....sorry...
You should hear my singing; I used to sing quite well (And I still do) but my voice cracks occasionally.
Some F'in kid at school. He broke into where The instruments are kept and he took mine...or she, I don't even know... I was pissed. I was always the first chair player and it was because my clarinet was so good. I had to make due with a crappy one that the school owned
The first option looks good, but the server is only for windows, so that may or may not be a problem if we have any non-windows using members. The second option might be fine, but I couldn't figure out how to use it... hopefully someone else can understand it? With the third option, it looks like you can only have 3 contributors to the server (so only 3 people would be allowed to use it) before having to upgrade to a premium version. As far as I can tell they all look trustworthy, and Norton Security didn't pick up any security threats when downloading any of the softwares. That's... That's just ridiculous. Did the school at least try to do anything about it?
@ Zephyr Wind THERE'S HELL TO PAY!!! Gather the hounds and grab thine weapon! It is time for a hunt!!! Let us show them the meaning of "Love and Tolerance"! Meletric Thank you ! We're going to have to look into that second option then! Maybe Pulse Wave will know how to work with it.
Time to crash this thread with some Vinyl Scratch! *Scratch Scratch Scratching Vinyl* Go DJ Pon3! :derpe: I just felt like lurking in this thread, bye. :derpe: Also, my sister likes Tavi' (Octavia) and wants to switch to Cello. Haha. She currently plays a.........don't remember.
Don't worry about that. FTP is nothing proprietary, it's a standardised online protocol like HTTP (Web), POP, SMTP or IMAP (mail), so servers and clients of all kinds are required to be fully interoperable. By the way, FileZilla is a great free cross-platform client, I use the Linux version for all my FTP purposes.
all what i have to play is an ocarina alto-C, since its an uncomon instrument it doesnt fit very well with everything so i hope that is a place for this instrument, if you guys already assembled the whole thing just ignore this post :derpe:
I don't think anything's fully assembled yet, but you'll need to talk to TenorTrouble for that... Just that, nopony seems to check out more than the general chat and forum games section out of habit.. including me. Well, this should revive this again somewhat...
Ahh, I never saw that poll. The Fillymonic Orchestra would have been the BEST PUN evaaaaar. Opportunity massively missed.
Mmmm... I'd like to know, the electric guitar part of this, must be a distortion or an overdrive one?
Hey if you need another percussionist or synth player just contact me (I specialize in snare drum, set, and synth)
A percussionist! Just who we needed! We've been having some issues on how to upload our files and I am finally sick of it! I say we use Audacity and ANY download site like megaupload where we an store the files. From there, we can download and and record with the rest of the orchestra. I say we use audacity because it is a small and easy program to use and you can have multiple layers of recordings. The standard for recording will be ten seconds after you hit the record button, you start playing. The ten seconds gives us some space to synch the files if they aren't all in the right spot. Another thing we can do to increase the quality of the sound is to have two to four recordings of each part with each submission. That way if one trial isn't up to snuff it can get thrown out by a main editor. Any questions or objections?
1)Would built in computer microphone work for recording (my best microphone died a few months ago)? 2)Will I be playing any synth?
Answer 1) it will work for now. At the moment, all we're looking for is to get at least one song out. Answer 2) Yes. I don't think it's written into the first score, but it can be written into the next ones.
