Yeah... This is a thing apparently. There is some serious salt and fanboy jealousy over LOZ Breath of the Wild getting such great scores. Mostly 10s across the board too. Yet people feel the need to review bomb Breath of the Wild with 0/10 reviews out of sheer jealousy just because it's doing better than their 'preferred game'. And there has been some major comparisons with Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn. It seems that the hate on Breath of the Wild is merely all because it's doing so well and getting perfect reviews.

I could care less about reviews. This is legitimately one of the best games I've played in a while. Sure, it's not without its flaws, but I'm far from losing any sleep because some pretty big critics are giving it 10/10.

You can't trust the big mainstream reviewers like IGN or GameSpot because companies like EA, Capcom, or Nintendo can pay them to give good review scores.

And I don't care how good Breath of the Wild is, I personally think I'd be better off getting the Wii U version, because the Switch is a total piece of *squee!*, IMO.

Perfect scores require a perfect game.
From the little I know about it, it's not exactly perfect.

That's why I'm usually of the "play it and see for yourself" mentality. That may be easier said than done so it's also a good idea to do your research and try to answer the questions you personally have for the game. For me, it was things like how responsive are the controls, what kind of control scheme is it, how much motion control IS in the game. If nothing else, watch a video demo and see if anything about the gameplay catches your attention. If I based my opinions on games solely on reviews, I'd have either wasted money on many games that I have no interest in or missed out on something fun just because IGN or someone said it wasn't worth it.

As far as Zelda games go, I wish I'd done my homework before buying Triforce Heroes. :p
