Hm, not really sure about post count = popularity though. Having over 1000 posts, can't say I feel popular, really. More noticed perhaps.
There are a number of reasons I asked. Been trying to reflect on my personal experience of being in the brony community for over a year now and how it ties with the countless tales of drama, self-righteousness and other things you see within the fanbase. Another reason is to understand something about self-acceptance, something I've been struggling with even before ponies and I think you'll be able to give me answers better than anyone else I could think of right now...
