Actually, i'm thinking of having a Time Paradox in which he kills himself, as there is a human Karl among those forces, or we could have it like they enlisten the help of Karl, who isn't really on any side of the fight, he is on whichever side gives him the best rewards.

Yup. It's Clockmaker stuff 'nd all that crap. Karl has a link to The Clockmaker, as you saw when he got his stuff back, and has been to many different planets, dimensions and timelines. You could almost view him as a Time Lord. Except he doesn't choose where he goes.

Karl has a long history as a human. Think Project Nevada for Fallout: New Vegas and then level 50. Then take 40 more years, he dies, comes to Equestria, whole memory whiped out except that his name is Karl, and boom, there you have it. So, to answer the question: Karl used to be human, and he has connections with the attackers. But i'll show them when he's alone or with a smaller group.

Emergency teleport. He became mentally unstable when he heard and saw the humans, and had to go to The Rift for calming himself down. Also, he gets the Longinus Knife and the Terra Pistol! Yay!

Oh and he teleported to The Rift, a place that can be reached through by knowing how to use magic overcharges to create a portal that can transport the user anywhere, or you just say the Lithian Words and you're off!

Well, technically Karl already is insane, so i doubt there won't be any change. Also, he's not gonna read it... he's needs that room for other purposes... Not what you think it is, though.

Sadly, yes but if you just get him to realize he's not gonna be engaging in direct combat with humans, or if you can convince him that you can protect him from The Clockmaker, then he might jsut stop caring about it and help you. But first, he has to get his hoofs on the Longinus Knife. Yay!

Trust me, he'd rather chose to end his life than to break a promise with The Clockmaker line.

Still! Karl can't attack humans, as he made a promise with The Ancient Clockmaker (There's thousands of Clockmakers but the current is the 43rd instance) that he could harm anything but humans and Lithians!
