Anyoen else here watch this series?

I just finished season 6 and i have to say they do tie everything up nicely buit leave us wanting more witht he following prophecy.

The doctor will soon come to a place where no one may lie or fail to answer a question. While there he will be asked the oldest question in the world. The question hidden in plain sight. The question that must never be answered. The question the doctor has been running from his whole life. And when it is answered Silence will fall...

You know the question. It's printed on this very page. You've said it yourself. And it's...

Dragonbait and I were just discussing Doctor Who in our profile conversation. (Eccelston FOREVER) So good timing, Clayton! --Almost creepy. ;)

I've got to be honest... Matt Smith is a fun doctor, but I just can't get behind the writing all the way for these last couple seasons. The episodes in between the mid season finale and the real finale were good in season 6, but the mid season finale left me very VERY cold. To much Deus Ex Machina. Too much plot that felt thrown in instead of elegantly constructed. I loved 9 (more than most), 10 was incredible, 11 is good, just not quite up to my expectations after the first four seasons, I guess. :/ I miss the way Davies wove his characters together and made you truly feel for them. I try to feel for Amy, I start to feel for Rory, I felt for River until the mid-season then it fell flat, but over all I just can't become as engaged in their stories as with the previous two Doctors and their companions, this last season more than anything. :(

I only started watching when Matt took on the role, although I have seen a few episodes with David Tennant. From what I've seen, I prefer Smith. He's more goofy and eccentric, while Tennant was more serious and down to earth. But like I said, I haven't seen enough of Tennant to make a solid judgement.

I absolutely loved the last two seasons, due in no small part to Karen Gillan and her amazing legs:derpe:, but also thought the plots were a bit too haphazard. Not much explaining going on, withore emphasis on action. Also, younreally had to watch the whole series to understand a lot of the overall plot, which normally I wouldn't mind but I prefer just being able to watch an episode without needing to know about the lore or an event that happened earlier in the series.
For example, I started watching quite late in the series and had NO idea who River was, while all the other characters did. That was kinda off-putting. Still, it all came together in the end after I went hack and watched the whole season. I felt season 5 was better than season 6, mostly due to the latters terrible ending.

One thing I can say: best cliffhangers ever.

    Also, Karen Gillan.

They have it set up so that a couple of old doctors can be brougth back. Matt Smith has a liquidy clone thing running around, Tennant has that other self in a paralell work, I don't have any clue why DONNA can't regenerate, Jenny is around somewhere...

Man, the Doctor leaves his DNA all over the place, doesn't he?

I started watching it around the episode where Rory died. :( I loved him as well. I really like the show and I really like Matt Smith, to my boyfriend's annoyance. But my fangirlism always goes down till there is another series, so I am waiting for that to happen.

I haven't watched the christmas special. Is it any good?

    Hello Whovians. =]

Matt Smith was my first doctor. His seasons won me over because they're just so brilliantly written and 11 is so lovable and dorky. I really couldn't care less about 9. There are probably only 2 or 3 of his episodes that I would even bother to watch again. I think David Tennant is my favorite though. I love Matt Smith's quirkyness, but 10's episodes were so emotional. I was an absolute wreck when I was watching the end of Season 4.

I think Matt Smith's episodes were written better, especially since everything tied together (and Amy, Rory and River are amazing). However, I think David Tennant is a better doctor. He's silly, but he's such a badass when he needs to be.

    Who is everypony's favorite companion?
I'd have to say mine is either Donna or Amy. I really didn't like Rose at all.

@Ruffledfeathers - I really liked the Christmas special, but I think I liked last years more.
