http://www.mane6.com/2013/03/m6v2.html I told you something good would come out of all of this...and I was right!
Well...not really. We may still be getting a game, but it's no longer MLP related. So in a sense Hasbro walked out of this twirling their mustaches in victory.
Of course. I fell in love with this game back before I even liked MLP. I love it as a fighting game, not just because "LAWL PONIES".
Exactly. This is why Hasbro will never get money from me again. I had planned on buying the DVDs of G1 Transformers at some point, but now I'll just download it. In general, that's my policy. If a company acts like a jerk and drops the hammer on stuff that would have no effect on their bottom line whatsoever, they lose me as a customer. On the other hand, if a company seems not to have a problem sharing their stuff (like Disney and WB for instance), I'll support them by still buying their products legitimately for the most part. I think that's a fair way to do things.
Great news! Glad to hear it'll continue development. And also, wonder what the new theme of the game would be...hmm...
Lauren Faust has won the internet. I don't exactly blame Hasbro for what they did, but Lauren's intervention definitely fixed everything. Lauren, you are a freaking hero.
Kinda saw this coming, considering that they accepted her offer to help on twitter a couple weeks back. Kinda still defeats the purpose, a pony fighting game without ponies...however, since the Faust is helping, it'll could very well turn into an amazing original work in its own right. Which could turn out to be pretty big... and which they could prolly make a lot of money off of if they were so inclined. At any rate, it's good that they got this opportunity to finish what they started, perhaps make something greater than what they originally intended. Praise be to thee, Saint Faust.
Think of it this way, it's not pony-related, so it has the potential to be a new IP on its own. Who knows, maybe if it succeeds some of the designers could go on to do other games. ^^
All of this. I also believe I saw a post where one of the Mane6 team was talking about using the Skullgirls engine.
