There is artwork for this if you would like to see it, just look for SmashingAeon on deviantArt please. Some pictures are missing, I hope to add those soon. This fic takes the chaos of Guild Wars, and threads itself in the world of Equestria, and if Twilight and her friends don't do something about it, their world as they know it will cease to exist. They will venture out new lands and make new allies, as well as new enemies as they go on their journey. If not, then all hope is lost...

    Guild Wars: Troughecies (Prophecies)

All is well in the land of Equestria and the day is just like any other in Ponyville. Twilight is once again studying up on her magic, however, she is reading from a book sent over from Princess Celestia herself. There was no explanation as to why other than, Celestia saying, “Its time to start learning more advanced spells. She also told Twilight to study only the first four spells and nothing more. The first is a simple fire ignition spell.

“Easy,” thought Twilight, “I’ve been performing spells that change rocks into hats.” Thinking this, she faces an unlit candle. Focusing on the wick, her horn begins to glow. Only seconds pass before the wick starts to glow and smoke and finally catch fire, lighting the library with a faint orange glow.

    “There, nothing to it.”
“Nothing to what?”, says a familiar voice.
“Oh, hello Spike, I was just practicing these spells that Princess Celestia sent, again.”
“Oh yeah, I’m glad that you’ve gotten better, especially with that air magic spell. I remember when you first tried it, you almost blew this place apart!”
“I remember too, Spike, I’m just glad that nopony was hurt. Now if you’ll excuse me, I should continue practicing.”
“Don’t let me stop you.”, Spike says as heads out to continue his chores.

“Alright, next is the water magic spell. I might as well douse that candle.” Twilight thinks as she faces the candle yet again. She focuses, but this time at a space over the lit candle. Her horn glows once again, more intensely this time as she draws moisture from the air and forms it into a ball. Once the ball is of a decent size, she drops it, dousing the flame easily, water splashing to the floor.

“Yes! Another well performed spell.”, she thinks, facing back towards the book with a show of delight. “Okay, one more spell and I can take a break. The final spell to master, an earth magic spell.”

Reading over the book, she steps outside. Looking around, she spots a large rock and begins the magic process once more. She focuses, but nothing happens, “Hmmm, I’m not trying hard enough.” She clears her mind, takes a deep breath and tries once again. This time the rock begins to stir, her horn glowing more and more with intense power.Soon the rock is in the air, and then begins changing shape. More and more the rock takes on the form of Spike, when suddenly...

“TWILIGHT! A message form the Princess. You gotta see it.”, yells Spike, running towards her.

Startled, Twilight loses hold of the half-complete Spike statue, and, unfortunately for Spike he gets to meet the statue face to face.

“Oh no! Spike I’m so sorry, I had no idea you would be coming this way. Are you alright?”
“You’re not my mom.”, replies Spike, obviously still dazed from the blow to his head.
“Spike, snap out of it! You said Princess Celestia sent me a message.”
“Huh?”, Spike says, coming back to reality, “Oh right, this message came while I was doing my chores, it seems important.”

Spike hands her the scroll and indeed it does look important, the edges are lined with gold and is tied with a ribbon she has never seen used before. Upon opening, in large red letters, a message displays, “The princess requires your presence.”

“The message says the princess needs to see me, this is odd, only weeks ago did she ask for me to come, with a normal message, so she could give me this spell book. Well I better get going, Spike stay and rest, you need to stay still after that accident. I need to hurry.”

    “Aye-aye captain.”

And with that, Twilight heads for Canterlot, not sure what to expect this time around.

    -Ch. 2-

Running to the palace, Twilight’s mind is racing, she just can’t figure out why Princess Celestia would want to see her again, just weeks after their last meeting.

“Well, whatever it is, it must be important.”, thinks Twilight, getting closer and closer to her destination. But somethings makes her pause, something over the horizon that freezes her in place. Smoke, huge clouds of it, coming from the palace and the areas surrounding it. The smell of it piercing Twilight’s nostrils. Not believing this, she regains her composure and continues running.

Almost there, the smoke begins to get thicker, leaving it almost impossible to see. Attempting to navigate through the smoke wall, she then remembers of the new spells she’s just learned. Planting her hooves in the ground, she manages to cast the air magic spell, forming a small tornado to whisk the smokey barrier away. The smoke clears, but the celebration is short lived, as the extent of the destruction is revealed.

Buildings are ravaged and falling apart, ashes and burning remnants of houses are strewn about, and ponies lay on the ground, hopefully unconscious and nothing more.

Horrified by the scene before her, Twilight stands there, petrified. In her shock, she fails to see a large furry creature running towards her, fast, brandishing a torch.

The beast is feet away from her, still coming at a breakneck speed, when an object comes speeding right past her, just inches from her face. The object, a javelin made of ice, finds it’s mark, impaling the incoming threat. The body crumples to the floor, lifeless.

The source of the ice javelin then speaks,

“Twilight, you’re here, and thankfully safe.”

Coming back to reality, Twilight snaps out of her shock, and realizing the events that just unfolded before, begins to breakdown.

“ Princess Celestia, what is going on?” Twilight manages to say through her tears.

“Well, my dear student, it is time I tell you of the events that have been taking place in Equestria as of late. But first we must rid Canterlot of the brutes. We almost have them in retreat, we just need to keep pushing. Come with me child, use those spells you’ve learned in these last few weeks.”

The two then follow behind the royal guards, rushing the diminishing army of of mysterious creatures.

The battle rages on, the clang of armor echoing through the air. The clash between claw and hoof lasts for several hours until finally, the last of the unwelcome visitors are ousted.

A little battered and extremely exhausted, Twilight heads for the nursing tent that was stationed outside. Following behind her, the princess enters, bloodied and bruised. She rests herself on a cot, waiting for the nurse to care for her wounds.

“Twilight, I’m glad you came, but I want to apologize first for what has taken place here today, you weren’t supposed to witness this, at least not yet.”

“So that message you sent wasn’t for me help you in that battle?”

“No, my dear child, I was summoning you to see how much progress you have made on those spells, from what I saw today, you are doing very well. Now, I owe you an explanation for all this, but I need you to bring your friends, as they will be able to help us in dealing with this nuisance.”

    “Of course, princess.”

Leaving the injured princess to her rest, Twilight returns to Ponyville to ask for the assistance of her friends in this dire situation.

    -Ch. 3-

Back in Ponyville, Twilight goes to each of friends’ houses, still a little tattered from her recent battle. And with each house, the reaction was the same: an astounded look and an offering of help. Fluttershy practically dragged Twilight inside of her home to tend to her wounds. Twilight managed however, to get their attention when she mentioned that Celestia needed to see them right away.

The friends gathered together, begin walking back to the castle. The sun has just about set, the sky growing darker, and the six friends are somewhat weary due to the Princess wanting to see them so late. This is especially true for Twilight considering her experience prior to this moment.
Soon, the group reaches the palace and enter.

As they enter, they find the Princess, bandaged, waiting for them. She whispers something to her guards as Twilight and her friends enter, and they leave. A short moment of silence pierces the air before Celestia finally speaks,

“Now, my dear friends, I have summoned you here because a problem has come up recently that needs to be dealt with. I’m sorry to drag you all into this, but this problem is more than even I could handle alone, and with Luna off on her own for her own reasons, I could use the assistance.”

Looking at each other, Twilight and friends nod in agreement, willing to help the princess no matter what.

“Good, it does this old mare well to see others whom are so willing to help. Let us speak of the matter at hoof. Over the past century, a new animal species has been growing and...”

Fluttershy interrupts, “A new species!? How have I not seen them, are they cute? Harmless? Oh, and...”

Everypony looks back as Fluttershy, surprised by the sudden outburst from the usually quiet one.

    Fluttershy responds, “Oh...um...I’m very...*squeak*...sorry. Eep...”

With a slight chuckle and smile, Celestia acknowledges Fluttershy,

“My little pony, I admire how close you hold your talent of communication with animals, however, I have kept these creatures a secret for a reason. They have become sentient beings and are capable of incredibly fast adaptation. Normally, this would not be a problem, but they are a war-driven and blood thirsty breed. Twilight can bear witness to this.”

Applejack is the first to react, “Twi, is that true, did ya really see these things? Wait a minun, that’s why you’re a little banged up. Shoot! I shoulda seen this comin’!”

Soon a flurry of questions comes barraging Twilight:

    “What do they look like?”
    “Do they have a name?”
    “How big are they?”
    “Do they smell like candy?!”
    “Why are they here?”

Holding a hoof up, Twilight shakes her head and says, “Calm down everypony. I can’t answer those questions, but that is why Celestia has summoned us here today.”

“Thank you Twilight,” Celestia says. “Now, back to the topic on hoof. These vile fiends as I’ve said, are intelligent and have adapted well to their current surroundings. To well, in fact, that they settling on more land than projected. They are now on the edge of Canterlot, and are threatening to take it over. Worse still, they have taken a liking to fire, and use it for just about everything they do, its really become dangerous for all of us. They have also learned how to speak our language and have decided to call themselves the Blazefur. Now, I know you have already agreed to help me, but I will ask again as I care much for your safety. Are you willing to risk life and limb in eradicating this threat from our land?”

Twilight looks back at her friends, wondering what their answers will be this time. However, none of them speak, but instead nod their heads in agreement, telling Twilight that nothing will stop them from helping her, the princess, and all of Equestria.

“Don’t worry Princess Celestia. We won’t abandon you in this time of need.” Twilight replies.

“My dearest student,” Celestia begins, “I am both proud and happy that you and your friends are so kind. Now, I have prepared something for you and your friends in order to facilitate this ordeal. Please, come this way.”

Celestia then points to a room across the chamber and dissapears into it.

Zephyr lay in a pile of rubble in the town's center. During his fall he had collided with a nearby fence leaving it as a mere pile of debris. The nearby ruckus woke him up, and he opened his eyes with a pained look in his eyes. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and flapped his wings to bring his body up out of the rubble. Zephyr was covered in scratches and bruises, during his fall he had slid against the ground for a moment leaving a nasty that ran the length of his body. A trail of dried blood ran down his face, and originated from a gash on the crown of his head. Hovering in the air for a moment he panicked for a moment and frantically grabbed at his forehead with his right arm, pulling his goggles down over his eyes he inspected the lenses to make sure there were no damages.

"Oh thank Celestia" he gave a sigh of relief as the goggles remained intact albeit a few scratches.

Zephyr looked around and noticed the town's center wasn't the desolate place it was before, it was now brimming with lively, but confused, ponies.

"I'm probably still asleep" he said to himself, bringing his right hoof up to his nose and sealing it.
He tried to breathe in through his sealed nose, and found that there was resistance in doing so, making it impossible. He smiled, it turns out it wasn't a dream after all. That's a good thing, now he could finally live a normal life without all of the insanity that this town had.

He folded his wings back and dropped a few inches to the floor. As his left hoof touched the ground, a horrible, warm pain shot up his entire arm causing him to collapse onto the ground once more. Blinking back his tears, he inspected his arm and become aware of the problem. Many of the bones found inside his arm had become either broken or shattered during his accident, giving it a black and purple appearance, and a odd bend to boot. Bringing himself together, Zephyr resumed flapping his wings and hovered around the town's square, his bad arm dangling lifelessly, looking for the ponies he had become acquainted with just before.
