I just ordered a new mp3 player, should be here in a day or two, but I have very little/almost no songs to put onto it. My old mp3 player had less than 1GB and I haven't had the ability to transfer music on/off of it for years since I lost the cable and software for it. So I have no songs compiled on my computer, no playlists, nadda. I also was never really about music, so I don't really have a list of favorite artists/songs or anything. I have about 25 pony remixes, that's it. To the point, because of pony remixes I recently got into the genre's of electro/house/dubstep/trance/etc. but I'm not familiar with any popular non-pony artists in those genres, and have no idea where to start looking for good artists/songs in those genres. So, please recommend me good electro/house/dubstep/trance artists and songs to get me started looking in the right direction, they can be pony or non-pony artists. Thanks!
Angels and Airwaves. ON TOPIC Skrillex, zomboy ,Mord Fustang that's all I got for dubstep. Don't really know any other artist in the other genres.
Have you seen Love? I wanted to ._. Anyway on topic: I'd recommend Breathe Carolina and although it's not the genre you've requested I heavily recommend Voltaire. It's surprisingly amazing.
I'm actually not a big fan of Skrillex, I know he's supposed to be a big dubstep icon or something, but I really only like 1 of his songs. Dunno. I checked out Breathe Carolina and Voltaire. Breathe was really good, particularly Blackout and IDGAF. As far as Voltaire goes, I couldn't get into it, just not to my taste I suppose. On a very topic related note, my new mp3 player came today. So now I really gotta get cracking on compiling songs. Thnaks for the suggestions guys, keep 'em coming. Need moar suggestions!
I did not I really want to see it though. @Frost You could use last fm. Type the artist that you like and then find similar artist to them.
If you like trance, try checking out tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, and Ferry Corsten. As for house, I'd be surprised if you haven't already heard of deadmau5; also Micky Bono (of the Beat Thrillers) makes some hour long house mixes that are free to download. 'Hope you find something you like!
Thanks guys ^.^ I've been listening to soooo much new music, it's ridiculous. Artists I like that I've found so far include Deadmau5, NoiseStorm, Ephixa, Feint, Bar 9 and Pendulum. Also, I've been following a brony that makes electro/dubstep type music on youtube, she's an actual DJ irl and I really like her work, although they aren't pony songs. Goes by the name of TheOfficialDJPon-3.
Electronic music is a great umbrella genre housing many great artists. Some of my favorite songs are on YouTube my amateur musicians. I'm curious how you'll react to hardstyle, it uses a similar 4/4 time signature to house and electro, but is very, very heavy on the bass. This should get you started: Also, I'd be interested to see how you react to J-core, one of my favorite umbrella subgenres of electronic. It's often not for the feint of heart, but here's a pretty mild example: Some artist recommendations based on what you have posted that you like are: Daft Punk (house) Boys Noize (electro house) Justice (electro house) Borgore (very dirty dubstep - lyrics are inappropriate most times) ATC (90s synthpop) Modestep (dubstep) Let me know what you think!
It just so happens that Aviators has made quite a lot of that kind of music. In fact, that's actually one of his strongest genre points in his music. He has quite a ton of remix stuffs, and quite some interesting house/electronic pieces that you would really like: http://music.soundoftheaviators.com/album/the-adventure http://music.soundoftheaviators.com/album/equestrian-revolution-iii (You can check out more if you want)
