I am a player of Halo and Pokemon. My personal favorite Halo has to have been Halo 2. I believe that it was extremely well done, with the pacing of the game being at a reasonable speed. The combat dialogue was quirky and amusing. Also, unlike Halo 3 or 4, Halo 2 didn't have the sequel feel to it. I also enjoyed how it introduced a large amount of information on the Halo universe, without seeming like it was cramming it down your throat. This game was practically a gateway drug into the massive Halo universe.
Favorites of mine include Disgaea, Valkyria Chronicles, Fire Emblem, Persona (and to a lesser extent other Shin Megami Tensei games, mothership and spin-offs), Xenosaga, Star Ocean, Mass Effect, Borderlands, Fallout, Legend of Zelda, Fatal Frame (a.k.a. Project Zero), anything made by pre-2000 Rareware, Final Fantasy, Demon's/Dark Souls, Pokemon
Favourites for Playstation/Xbox: Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Assassins Creed series (except for Revelations, I thought that sucked), Skyrim, FIFA series, GTA series, Red Dead Redemption, Batman Arkham Asylum and City, Tekken series, Sims 3. Favourites for the Megadrive: Sonic 3, Mortal Kombat 3, Street Fighter 2, Road Rash, Rock 'n' Roll Racing, Revenge of Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, NBA Jam, Theme Park.
Favorites, eh? Well these are ones I've played and liked and have replayed many times- Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Thief, Neverwinter Nights, Dark Souls, Killing Floor, Mount & Blade, Touhou, & Persona 3/4.
I adore Kingdom Hearts too... The first game has a wonderful scope, story and a likeable cast of characters as it builds up it's multiverse of strange Final Fantasy mythos using Disney characters at its base. When it works, it's awesome! It paints an innocent, massive feel to it's universe and mounting threat of the Heartless. It even manages to give the impression of a huge universe with it's world travelling mechanics. When it falls flat, it's stilted and dull but they're not game breakers as long as you're willing to put the time in to rise to the game's challenge. It get's challenging pretty quickly as you're expected to fight a tough battle less than an hour into the game. It's pretty ironic but also intense, marking the first time you're expected to play with Donald and Goofy. Oh yeah! Only time you'll ever see Mickey Mouse as a badass; Goofy and Donald as close, dependable allies and Maleficent as truly intimidating. Want to know what else? Hades is awesome with his original voice actor (James Woods) and even better; you beat up Cloud Strife and Sephiroth. Although, Sephiroth's fight happens to be the most difficult you will ever face in the game and plenty of other games after.
Right now i am busy playing Skyrim. Too big of expansion to complete. It will take lot of time for me to finish it.
