I know this is only fairly fresh but not by much. I would like to see what ponies opinions are on the recent Wii U sensation, Splatoon! I was kinda skeptical at first to how well it would go, but actually trying it out... I have to say the combat is addictive the characters are refreshing, goofy and, fun. Not to mention wrecking your opponents with crazy and sometimes nostalgic weaponry. such as the old Nintendo Zapper Gun. So what do you guys think of it? Discuss away and try to keep this clean. Also don't forget to stay Fresh!
Waiting on those Splatling variations to come out. Otherwise, a very fun game to play with some pals.
If I'm a kid...but I'm also a squid does that Make me a skid? If I'm a kid now... but I'm A squid now... and if I'm both at the same time...i must be a skid... I'M A SKID NOW!
A lot of that is sadly my thought process. The big thing that tees me off is the constant ever present Japanese people that wreck everything. Very rarely do you get matched with people who are not half away across the *squee!*ing world. Then again, Japan dominates everything. Though I have wrecked my fair share of Japanese when I play my A-game. I typically go for heavy hitting load outs for very combative matches. It just sucks that I have to wait to play it again since I had the game on rent. But I will be happy to own it.
The one minuet mark is when the shounen protagonists show up and completely turn the game around. It's insane. I don't know how many times we've had complete map coverage for the first two minuets to only be pushed back to spawn in the last minuet. It felt like there was a killer wail every 10 seconds and an inkstrike every 15.
I've noticed that a lot lately too. It seems that they save their specials for the last minute. A genius strategy, but one that makes it rather unfair for the other team.
I plan to get this game for Christmas along with J Stars Victory Vs. +, Blazblue Chrono Phantasma Extended, Dragon Ball Z Ressurection F, My Little Pony Equestria Girls Friendship Games, Blazblue Alter Memory English Dub, Sailor Moon Season One part two and Sailor Moon Season Two part one.
...I recently, accidentally wiped my save data. So...From Level 21 back to 0. Joy! I get to find all my gear all over again...
If you have a spare USB stick you can back up your saves on it. Besides, running turf wars with low levels is great fun.
Finally got my hands on a Wii U and this game!!! I'm loving it (bada ba ba baaaaaaaaa). What I'm NOT loving are 3 little words... Connection is Unstable!!! My wifi is sub-par and my first day, I got disconnected from half of my battles. I moved the console a little closer to the floor (since I'm upstairs) and it's gotten better. Oddly enough I've only gotten disconnected from ONE Mario Kart race so I'm not sure what's up. Anygoo, I've never been into shooters but this game is SPLATASTIC!!!
I love using Chargers. I'm that guy that rolls up, using the Classic Squidger or whatever it was called (the low charge rate one) and picks off targets all day, every day at relatively close range. It's so much fun. I just have to deal with having next to no close range defence. Or long range game. If you're in the mid range of me, you're mine!
Finally beat the story mode yesterday!! That final boss can be a beast if you don't know what you are doing!! I died about 10 times to him before saying the hell with it in Friday night!! Decided to wait until after Splatfest to try it again and only got splatted once before beating it!
You wanna know what's worse? Trying to do the same thing with the other weapons when you do the Amiibo Challenges. While I'm pretty good with Charger based weapons, trying to not only keep on top of everything flying at you but shooting the disco-ball of doom back before it lands is tricky with only one charged shot, not matter how much range you have. Also, I kinda hate the roller for this fight. While you can keep territory to swim around in, your ability to hit the sodding target seems infinitely more taxing than it should be, just because you have no range at all. The only thing strong enough to play yet another round of Nintendo's idea of bizarre tennis-based boss fights is to connect your roller with the target. It's infuriating to do.
