Big Sims here. I've always like different kinds of music whether its classical, jazz, R&B, Rock, Oldies, etc. With that said, I want to know if I'm the only brony who likes to listen to video game music? I mean, I have music from Mario, Zelda, Sonic , Final Fantasy II, Pokemon, and the biggest one for me, Mega Man on my MP3. I've always loved to listen to Video Game Music, especially 8-bit. (Guess it's no wonder I loved the 8-bit versions of Art of the Dress and Winter Wrap-up) Though I have heard some good orchestrated video game tracks, and Wow has some good music as well. I want to know if I'm the only one who listens to video game music? If so, from what games?

The majority of my music collection is made up of video game soundtracks. Sonic, Mega Man, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon- You name it. The VGM folder on my computer alone is 25 gigs, both CD rips and emulated music (SPC, GYM, PSF, etc.) Next month, for my birthday, I'm planning on adding another soundtrack- the Xenoblade OST- to my physical collection as a birthday present to myself and to go along with the LE edition of Xenoblade that I'm importing from Europe this week. the whole soundtrack of ocarina of time, i have the complete soundtrack and play it sometimes with my ocarina.
Here's a brief top 10 of songs: 10. The legend of Zelda Ocarina of time - Hyrule theme Posting this for the sake to have it on the list. The game is great, but i do feel like the music is under the decency of the time before it. 9. Halo 2 - Breaking Benjamin "Blow me away" I really like this song, because i love the band Breaking Benjamin, and this song is one of their better songs. They're failing. I hope they get back on their old tracks and start doing songs like this again. 8. Prince of Persia Warrior Within - Conflict of the Griffin What I really adore about this music is the fact that it sounds so modern yet so medieval. The arrangements are great, the composition is fantastic, everything is fantastic about it. The sound is original, and the fight itself is too. I must say, this song is really moody. 7. Donkey Kong Country 2 - Hot head bop Why do i like it: Because of the atmosphere. It sounds a lot like an artist from Bosnia (Dino Merlin)'s song, so i can easily connect to it. The fact that this game is one of my all time favorites helps it too. 6. F-zero - Port town A really nostalgia-filled song. I remember this videogame as one of the first (actually, the third) videogame i have ever played. And this particular stage gave me shivers because of the awesome music and graphics. 5. Mega man x3 - Zero's theme A piece of musical-genialism. This is how the music back in the day got the reputation it has now - we owe the reputation of videogame classical music to themes like this one. The "edgy" sound enhances it's mood. And everything is flawless in it. 4. ActRaiser - Filmore Ok, this may not be better than any song i've posted here, but God damn it, Filmore has the best stage 1 music ever... well, it's second, actually. The adrenaline, the speed, the "edgy" sound just makes it outrageously great. I've heard this song was the composer's first composition... well, he did start of greatly. 3. Castlevania 2: Simon's quest - Bloody tears ANY guy who ever played a videogame has at least heard of Castlevania, and even though Simon's quest was not that great of a game, it did give us something that we'd remember - the best song from the Castlevania series, and that is - the Bloody Tears. 2. Starfox - Corneria Well, i said that "Filmore" from "ActRaiser" had the second best first stage music. THIS is the best first stage music. Again, the "Edgy" sound of the SNES era enhances the mood. I think that's why the music of "Futuristic" games on the SNES had the best tunes/vibes on them. 1. Plok - Akrillic This one was a tough one. I had to pick one song from the Plok game that stands out, and that would be either the Beach, Plok's house or Creepy Crag, but since everybody praises this song (there is a symphony playing this), i picked this song. Believe me, if i didn't use only 1 song per franchise, at least 6 places would've been filled with Plok music. It's just that great. It stands out for it's time, and it stands out ever since. The game is a masterpiece, and i am happy to say that it's my first ever play'd game.
