Chapter 1: The Loss of Balance

"...worked! Oh please have let it have worked!" a voice nearby said frightfully. Maley drowsily looked around the tiles in front of him with an odd fascination. With sudden realization that he was staring at the floor, he raised his head up. "Huh!?" he squeaked. "Where am I? What is-" A purple and red alicorn embraced him in a spine-crushing hug. "It did work! Oh thank-" she paused for a moment, then jumped away from him. "Wait, you don't remember me, do you..." she said, sadness creeping into her voice. He shook his head slowly to confirm her suspicions. She took a step back frightfully. at the ceiling. Maley followed her lead and saw six white orbs floating in the air. "What on Equestria are those?" he asked her. She only sighed and looked grimly towards him. "Your memories." she replied sadly.

He looked up with sudden wonder. "Those are my memories? Did you steal them from me? Give them back now!" he commanded her. She took a frightened step back. "Please, you told me you would act this way, but please, just hear me out!" she managed to say. "Each of these memories is of the destruction you caused for the entirety of Equestria over the course of the last six days! In order to get them back, you must fix what you have broken!" Maley stopped his advancement upon hearing this. "Chaos in Equestria? That's impossible, nothing could ever go wrong with Celestia ruling." he challenged her. She took another step back. Maley finally took a moment to examine the room they were in. It was entirely black and slightly cramped. There didn't seem to be any way in or out of the box, which only furthered his mystery.

"Just give me a moment, I'll explain everything." the distraught alicorn told him. "First of all, my name is Miamora, and I am your guardian. I'm sure you remember everything up to going to sleep, yes?" He decided to go along with her and nodded. Last he remembered, he was about to sleep and get ready for another fruitful day, but he didn't expect it would begin in a black box! "Right then," Miamora continued. "Since then up to this point, the course of six days, you managed to destroy all the elements of harmony in the land and throw everything out of balance. After coming to a decision, I teleported us in here to fix what was begun. I really didn't want to remove your memories, honest! You wouldn't listen to m-" She stopped herself and cleared her throat. "Sorry, that's for later. You made this plan, not me, so I suggest you listen to it. Anyways, each of these memories is the destruction of each element per day. You are not allowed to see them, but you must relive them. I have a bed over there for you when we begin the rehabilitation process." She raised a foreleg and pointed at what could hardly be called a bed in the corner. It was just a beaten mattress with stuffing poking out. "After you relive the memory, I will give you the proper memory and you will see how the event actually took place. After you have relived all six memories, you told me that you would know exactly how to fix all of the problems you have caused lately. I have no idea how this is supposed to work though. Did you get all that?" she looked at him expectantly. He only stared at her and nodded slowly. This was really a lot to take in.

"So," he began. "I am to relive each of my past memories...find what I did wrong...than go back into the real world and fix the terror that has been afflicted?" She put a hoof on her head. "Well," She replied. "I'm not exactly sure, I was just relaying what you told me five minutes ago." Five minutes? Wow, had it really only been that long ago? He looked longingly up at the floating orbs at the ceiling. He desperately wished to know what had happened over the past six days. 'I suppose the only way I'll find out is agreeing.' he thought. Turning back towards Miamora, he said "When do I begin?"
