Everypony Radio Chapter 1 The Crossroad Meeting The seven maintained a good speed as they headed home from Canterlot after the Gala. The road home met a crossroad which marked the centre of all Equestria, from Manehattan to Appleloosa, and Fillydelphia to Hoofington. All the Cities, towns, and villages had a road that led or joined to a road that led to the ‘crossroads’ . As the six closed in on the Crossroads from the Canterlot road they noticed a massive coach sat just off to one side, between two of the roads, and the closer they got they soon see two ponies sleeping in the long grass, one grey in colour, the other pure white, from the back of the cart they could see a small brown pony just as fast asleep as the other two were in the long grass. “Excuse me follow ponies, are you okay?” Twilight asked, The grey one lifted its head and looked over at the six ponies who had walked into his camp “Yea, yea fine, carts broken that’s all” He replied has he got up and walked over to them “I’m Grey Nightmare, how do you do?” He kicked the white unicorn who woke up in a shock and gave Grey an annoyed look before wandering off to the coach, “Twilight Sparkle and my friends Rarity, Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Apple Jack and Spike. Its a pleasure to meet you Grey Nightmare” The others said their own hellos to the grey unicorn “Like wise, that there is Vinyl Scratch, in the cart is Seralth, Oatmeal should be around here somewhere” Grey said “We’re awaiting on Hex to return with the parts to fix the coach, hope he returns before it gets dark” “Well, Grey, do you mind if we join your camp for the night? Before we set off to Ponyville in the morning?” Twilight enquired with the grey unicorn “Urm, if Hex gets back before the night, we’ll be heading off anyway” Grey suddenly realised that both his group and Twilight’s group were going the same way “To Ponyville in fact” “What!? You’re going to travel at night?” Apple Jack said in disbelieve “Yes, allows us to get to places quicker” “But don’t you become tired?” she again asked “Well, me and Hex do the night shift” Grey answered “And Vinyl and Oatmeal do the day shift. Half's our travel time so we can get more Gigs in” “Gigs? and where is this Hex then? we haven’t seen them” Rainbow Dash injected to the conversation. “We’re Everypony Radio, we do music gigs, we’re heading to Ponyville to meet up with some old friends and do a gig for them. As for Hex, he is well....” Grey thought for the word “...our roadie” “Roadie? what’s a Roadie” Pinkie Pie asked as she poked the sleeping Seralth “Wakey wakey” “He fixes things, and moves everything, as of now, he’s gone to get a part for the Coach as its broken” Grey looked at Pinkie Pie “Please don’t wake up Seralth” With Grey picked up the foal with his magic and put it to bed away from the the pink Pony. “But yes, till Hex comes back, you and your friends are welcome to join our camp and join us on our way to Ponyville” As the last hours of daylight past, Grey became more worried about Hex and the new ponies to his camp. Seralth had woken up and was giving Pinkie Pie a run for her money it seemed. Rarity and Vinyl had caught up because Vinyl remembers going a gig for one of her fashions shows. Oatmeal and Apple Jack were talking about working the farms while Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Twilight set up camp, and the little dragon started one making everypony tea for that night. After a while Twilight wandered about Grey as he stared at the roads hoping for Hex’s return and went up to talk to him, but found it was she who was being asked the questions. “You’re Princess Celestia’s personal student aren’t you Twilight?” His eyes never moved from the roads “Yes, I am her personal student, how you..” She started “Thought I remembered you” Grey stared deep into the distance and with that a smile turned up on his face “I think that is him” Grey quickly ran to the Coach, pulled out some tool boxes and placed them by its twin back axles were Twilight believed the break was. The group studied the dot as it got larger and larger, Rainbow Dash stared to see that who ever it was had a larger wingspan then herself allowing him to glide at speed with little effort but noted he was dropping in height. In the final moments the large pegasus crashed into the camp, asleep, slide into a bucket of cold water and stood bolt up right “I’m awake, I’m awake, I’m....” He looked around to see himself at the camp but that new ponies had joined it “I was flying last time I checked” “You crashed you dozy peggy Hex” Hex looked at Seralth, then turned to Grey “Got the parts, give me” He looked at the sun “Before Princess Celestia gets it to touch” and with that Hex set to work ignoring the other ponies and Grey followed suit and got Vinyl and Oatmeal to pack the Coach. “Girls, you want to start packing up again, get it all into the Coach. Soon as Hex has this fixed, we’re going” Grey told them “Oatmeal, Vinyl, we’re doing the night shift, Hex needs the sleep and will do the day shift” “Okay Grey” they both said before setting up the front of the Coach so all three could pull it. Seralth started to help the girls to move the stuff into the Coach and ‘help’ Hex. Just as the sun hit the ground Hex put the wheel back in place “Go Grey, go” He called and the two unicorn's and earth pony began to pull the loaded Coach with Hex running along side eyeing up the wheel. Happy with his work run up to Grey, wished the three ponies a safe shift and flew to his bunk inside the coach. Inside the coach Seralth, Spike and the girls had got themselves comfy in 4 of the 5 beds and started to talk among themselves with the luck that they had to come across Grey’s group to take them to Ponyville when the large off white pegasus landed in the coach. The group remained quiet as he trotted up to one of the storage bunks, removed some food, then processed to pull a cover off a hatch to inspect the back axles from inside the coach and then gently flew up into his top bunk at the back right of the coach above where Fluttershy and Rarity has taken up as they’re place of rest. Before long the group started to talk again between themselves, keeping it low so not to wake up the sleeping pegasus. “So Seralth, what can you tell us about Everypony Radio?” Twilight asked the small girl like foal who was sharing its bed with Pinkie Pie, next to the bed that Fluttershy and Rarity were in, Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack hung over the edge of the bunk staring at the other ponies, Rainbow Dash more so at the off white pegasus sleeping in the bunk opposite them. “Well” Seralth started as he stared back at Twilight and Spike who sat in the bunk below Apple Jack and Rainbow Dash “We play music for ponies everywhere, travelling from place to place, bringing joy and inspiration to those who need it” “THAT IS SO COOL!” Pinkie pie called out at Seralth, causing everypony to jump and stare at the sleeping pegasus as he rolled over and let a wing fall down to in front of Rarity and Fluttershy. Seralth kept talking about EPR and the gigs they did, places they have been and plans for the future, but all this skipped over Rarity because she stared at Hex’s wing in front of her. She was fighting the need to groom it for the pegasus, his feathers were all out of place and messed up from the crash, and maybe from before that even since he seemed an all work no play pony who should take better care of himself. As she tried to pull herself away from the wing to Seralth she suddenly saw her hoof reach up to the damaged feather that bad been bugging her and pull it. The wing shot up and a face replaced it “Eep” Rarity squeaked “Squeak” Fluttershy followed suit as the face glared at them both before shooting back up, a draw was pulled out from between the beds, and shut as quickly as it was opened. A large black box landed in front of the pure white unicorn and yellow pegasus. “If you would, it would be so nice and save me the time. They really need it. That box is my grooming kit, feel free to use it” Hex said as he dropped the wing back down in front of the two mares. Rarity opened the box in disbelieve of what was inside, she felt ashamed to even think this large pegasus didn’t care for himself now with seeing his grooming kit, almost put hers to shame....almost. As Rarity got to work on the wings, the coach returned back to Seralth late night story telling as Luna raised the moon for the night travelling coach “Grey Nightmare started EPR” Seralth paused for thought “When he left Princess Celestia’s School for Gifted Uni--” Hex helped out only to be cut off by Seralth “UNICORNS! I KNOW I KNOW” He chripped“Yes, he started in Canterlot in the parks playing any music he could get his hooves on” “Later he was joined by Vinyl Scratch in a Canterlot night spot who was a already a travelling DJ for hire. But Grey came up with the idea of doing gigs for ponies all over Equestria” “So between the two unicorns, they bought themselves a cart, loaded it with their gear and travelled the lands. Performing Gigs for anywhere that would set them up being joy and music everyponies lives” “From time to time other DJ’s would join Grey and Vinyl, a few pegasus who set up a bar soon after” “Oatmeal soon joined EPR when they rolled though the farm village he lived in. EPR had a few DJ’s at the time, 6 I think” Seralth thought on this one “8 Seralth” Hex said as he rolled over and allowed Rarity to do his other wing who had started to do full swing and was doing his tail as the same time “8 DJ’s and still the same cart which had become worn out from all the travelling and gear carrying. Oatmeal asked to join Grey and the EPR with their mission on taking music to every corner of Equestria, offering a coach as well to help them out” “and my my what a coach Oatmeal offered you guys” Rarity did her finishing touches to Hex’s tail “All done, just get a bath and you’ll be perfection in one of my suits” Hex pulled his tail and wing up into his bunk while snorting to Rarity’s idea “I’ll....think about it Rarity, thanks for the help” he said as he took the box and put it back into the draw and go back to sleep “Urm...Rarity, Hex broke that coach when he joined EPR” Seralth yawned, the coach’s live stock could clearly see that Luna had almost risen the moon to its full height and see how late it was “Hex joined shortly after all but Grey, Vinyl and Oatmeal have left EPR on their own ways, shortly after that Hex broke Oatmeal’s coach with his speed” Seralth eyes started to go from all the story telling as he yawned again, Spike and Rainbow Dash had long gone, Apple Jack was just behind Seralth and followed by Fluttershy and Rarity. Hex just snorted to Seralth’s comment. Soon after Seralth yawned, he gave out and curled up into a ball with the others starting to fall asleep as well. Twilight and Pinkie Pie looked at each other, both still awake. They both stared out of the windows into Equestria’s night time, the night was filled with a new vibe now that Luna had come back from her banishment and she had already had made many changes to Equestria. Twilight turned to look at Pinkie Pie who had curled up into a ball with the little pony Seralth and thought it was a good idea to follow suit. End of Chapter One The Crossroad Meeting
