Hell all, Does anyone here still play? I checked all 4 pages of gamey goodness and didn't find a thread here. It would be super cool to see some friendly faces in game for once. It would be neat to have an all brony guild if there were enough of us. So who plays? Which side do you prefer? Have you escaped to Skyrim or SW yet? I myself play both sides, but mostly Alliance.
I can't say I ever played retail WoW, but rather private servers, due to the enjoyment of one-on-one conversations with the developer (I was a high contributor), and I didn't want to commit myself to it, after seeing my friends pretty much lose their lives to it. I'm playing The Old Republic however now, and really enjoying it, but playing really casually. On WoW, I mainly played as a fury warrior. really enjoyed it.
That's pretty cool! I've played for about 4 years now, but other than playing with friends I'm pretty over it myself. It is my first and will be my last online MMO for some of the reasons you mentioned: I don't need another life-sucking attention hog of a game in my life. But I still enjoy the content I'm able to do solo, I'm just hating the player base more and more as time goes by...
Yeah I used to play WoW. I played for about two and a half years or so and then I quit near the end of December. I used to raid a lot, got burned out, got more into the social guilds, then did casual raiding, retired from that, and then after I killed Deathwing I decided it was time to pack up and leave. As fun as WoW was, it just lost something after awhile and I grew bored of the game. Now I'm playing Star Wars: The Old Republic. I have a lot of fond memories of playing WoW, never really got addicted or sucked into the game as much as other people did. And yes the player base has gotten so bad it is painful to even so much as think of. Gear is too easy to get and there's a bunch of morons running around in gear they don't deserve and doing 4k dps at level 85 or failing at healing and tanking. That and I hate how Blizzard kept nerfing EVERYTHING. That last patch they deployed shortly before I quit was insane, they did not need to nerf ZA and ZG that much. Don't even get me started on the dungeon Hour of Twilight.... -_- The other 2 dungeons from patch 4.3 were actually good and somewhat challenging.... except for Hour of Twilight. I don't know what happened there but that place was a joke. Only wiped once on the last boss, and that was because the tank and healer herp-derped and stood in the giant energy wave of pain that was moving at 1 mile an hour (AKA impossible to be hit by if you are paying ATTENTION). *Breathes Deeply* Love.... and Tolerance. Love and Tolerance.... But yeah, point is I miss the days when WoW was not like the way it is now.
I KNOW HAWK! I usually TLR but man you hit the nail on the head! Those games are supposed to be about community, now with cross-server interaction out the waa-zoo there IS no WoW community. They did a lot of things that were good in theory but monumentally wrong in practice. At this point I'm just going to make a hunter on a low pop server and collect the pets that have become impossible to get on my normal server.
I have an active WoW subscription, I don't play close to at all, But I can't cancel it, because I'm on a one year term. I also have my own private server, Kinda just have it to play around with codes. Most of it I had to recode myself, MaNGOS developers clearly knew nothing of Programming conventions, And the code efficiency was abysmal.
I used to play WoW in social guilds and some acive RP. But I haven't been on lately, mostly because the lack of RP from my guild, all people insult me for being a bad tank, but noone wanted to explain the boss fights. And because I couldn't transmog my bloodknight RP-set (Grrrr....) But my WoW-account is still active, not because of the 1-year subscription deal, but my dad took over my account and is enjoying it now

I'm a casual WoW gamer, I've got Alliance characters on Norgannon and Horde characters on Wildhammer. I play mostly Hunter - Mage - Warlock but I'm trying out Paladin & Rogue to see if I like it. Not in a guild or anything, I just like to quest and look around and maybe craft a little.
I used to play as a Tauren Retridin for raiding (simply to have Avenging Wrath macro'd with 'Ret Bull gives you Wings) but got bored after all the content got nerfed and I couldn't play as much, so i'm on Guild Wars now, since theres no fee, so I can get more bang for my buck

I played WoW as a human warrior (tank) up to near the end of BC, when i quit. I rejoined when Cata came out, quit 2 weeks later cause cata sucked. I am currently playing Star Wars: The Old Republic
