I agree. Though I am upset people are trashing upon their song 'Fire It Up'. I'll admit the tone shift was a bit off putting but it isn't a bad song. Yet everyone is treating that song like it is the worst thing ever. I get the reference of the use of weed isn't exactly seen in a positive light but seriously? Getting butt hurt over a song isn't going to stop anyone from enjoying it.
I can't say as though I've ever met a Disturbed fan who was anti-pot. I think this is more a case of conservatives sticking their noses into a place where they're not welcome. Again.
That maybe the case. I know I really shouldn't get upset over it but It sometimes stupid, ignorant, *squee!* like that just tees me off.
That's just their opinion if they hate it or not. But seriously, some people should really lighten up and let it go. It's just a song.
I find it kind of ironic that people freak out over a song about marijuana, but there are hundreds of songs about drinking that nobody bats an eye over. It's common knowledge that alcohol is far more harmful than pot.
How did I not see this thread?! Disturbed always makes good music. But yeah, I find it ridiculous that people complaining or being critical about that drug reference in the song Fire It Up. I mean really, there are many songs like that. It don't see why it's a big deal.
Well I recently, within the last month, single hoofiedly revived the thread with news of Disturbed's return with the new Immortalized album. I've been posting there new music videos as they come ever since then. But yeah. 'Fire It Up' kicked up a lot unnecessary hate because people are getting butt hurt over the reference to the use of pot/weed/marijuana, whatever you wanna call it. Practically every comment on the music video is about how horrible the song is due to it referencing weed. I actually just posted up a blog on not too long ago.
